Here are
the Key IDP Injuries heading into week 8. It looks like we made it through
another week of hard hitting NFL games relatively unscathed. This is the point of the year that a lot of
veteran players will start to get nicked up and we’ll see a lot more false “Q”
tags. There will be more missed practice time simply for rest purposes and
statuses will change greatly from the early report to the final weekend report.
So having such a short list this week is a breath of fresh air.
Shawn Merriman-
Buffalo Bills- OLB- BYE
Merriman
was placed on Injured Reserve Tuesday with his troublesome Achilles. He’s
scheduled to have surgery to prevent “an inevitable rupture”.
Elvis Dumervil- Denver Broncos-
DE- Questionable
He was in a
protective walking boot after spraining his ankle “badly” on Sunday. No word if
it is a high ankle sprain, which would sideline him for a couple weeks.
Justin Tuck- NY Giants- DE-
Questionable
Tuck said he felt sore on
Tuesday (Neck/Groin) but still on track to play this week barring a setback.
London Fletcher-
Washington Redskins- MLB-
Questionable
He strained
his hamstring Sunday and his availability is unknown for Week 8. Keep an eye on
him before putting him in your lineups.
Gerald McCoy-
Tampa Bay Bucs- DT- Probable
He’s missed the last 2 games
with what looked like at the time to be a pretty nasty ankle injury but he is
fully expected to be back following the team’s week 8 BYE.
Danieal Manning-
Houston Texans- FS- OUT
Manning
will miss the next 4 weeks after undergoing surgery on his broken left tibia.
It sounds like the Texans will keep his spot open and not place him on Injured
Reserve.
