2016 Weekly IDP Rankings: Week 17

These are The IDP Guru's Weekly IDP Rankings. This page will be updated each week to reflect that current week's rankings.

Make sure to Follow Me on Twitter. This is the best place to ask for waiver wire/lineup advice!

ECR stands for Expert Consensus Ranking and is the aggregated average ranking across all experts who submit their rankings to FantasyPros.com. Looking in the vs. ECR column will tell you which players I am higher (+) or lower (-) on then the rest of the IDP "expert" community.

Clicking on a specific player will allow you to view the specific rankings of all other IDP experts and how those compare to my own. Additionally, you have the ability to view recent news and notes on that specific player.

Hello Mr. Guru - Y! Leagues give LB/S designation to Mark Barron and Deone Bucannon, where would you rank them on your DB rankings this week? How about for ROS? Thanks!

J.P Wellborn said...

Guru, Yahoo leagues have Jadeveon Clowney listed as LB/DE. I want to use him as DL, where would he rank on your list for DL?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Chris Moroney
DB1-/DB2+ range for this week and ROS.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@J.P Wellborn
DL1-/DL2+

Alan Dalhed said...

So because of injury/ bye week I need two fill in dbs. 1.5 tackle, .75 assist, 2 sack, 1 pd, 5 isn't scoring. Clinton-Dix, swearinger, vacarro, or earl Thomas (best two). Also what about Darius Stewart in Denver? He seems to be scoring well the last few weeks and had a good matchup. Thanks for your site!

Alan Dalhed said...

And that's 5 for interceptions.

Chris Moroney said...

Thanks! Any thoughts on Justin Houston's outlook for ROS as LB returning from injury?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Chris Moroney
He was activated this week but not sure they will rush him back with Dee Ford playing well. My thought is he will likely be a more part-time player for several weeks and will have sacks here and there. But I'm not banking on him being the consistent multiple-sack threat he has traditionally been. Not at least until the 2017 season.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Alan Dalhed
I'd go Vacarro and HCD.

Isam Taylor said...

E.Kendricks or G.Hodges in a 4 point per solo. who would you start?

Bojan Subotic said...

What do you guys think of Vic Beasley at DL (DE on espn)? He is starting to show some real signs and productions.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Isam Taylor
Kendricks

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Bojan Subotic
Yeah, DL2+

T V said...

I saw that Levy practiced today for the first time since week 1. He was limited, but if he plays does that drop Tahir's value this week? I have to start him or Telvjn Smith

James said...

I can only start 1 of J. Collins(vs. Pitt) or T. Whitehead(vs. Jax) What do you think? Thank you.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@T V
I don't think Levy plays this week given how long he's been out and if he does it's most likely part time. So I'm not changing my outlook on Tahir.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@James
I like Whitehead more as he as a more consistent production record this year and a better matchup.

Jake Zavoral said...

Where would Karl Joseph/Antoine Bethea fit in if you had to rank them as LBs?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jake Zavoral
LB30ish range

Dani Franz said...

If Marcus Peters will sit tomorrow, would you pick Shead, McDougald or Chancellor to start as DB2?

Jake Zavoral said...

@Ryan Sitzmann Thank you!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Dani Franz
Shead as he's hot right now

Devin said...

Would you go Karl Joseph or Malcolm Smith in an DP spot?

Clyde Lazenby said...

No Joey Bosa?

Clyde Lazenby said...

No Joey Bosa?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Clyde Lazenby
I just forgot to add him back in after the bye. He's in the DL12 spot this week.

Joseph Donnelly said...

No Leonard Williams?

Brendan N said...

I don't see Grady Jarrett in your rankings? It looks like he has a decent match up according to your stats with Cardinals allowing the most points to DTs.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Joseph Donnelly
Just forgot to add him back in after the bye. He's now back in the rankings. Thanks!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Brendan N
He hasn't done much this year outside of a couple games. I would consider him a DL4/DT2.

Brandon Nichols said...

Which DL is most likely to get a sack in the two remaining games this week? (GB vs Philly and Denver vs KS)

Brandon Nichols said...

@Brandon Nichols

Actually didn't realize the Denver vs KS game was this close to kick off... Just need a DL most likely to get a sack in the GB vs Philly game now. Sorry!

Any news on Derrick Johnson? He's been pretty quiet the last few weeks...

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Powertrip1
Seems like the injury is still bothering him a bit and he has been losing a handful of snaps a game. He should bounce back here.

julius peppers listed as a de on espn. is he playing Lb for packers full time or splitting time at de?

Mike Kelly said...

Shea Mcclellin is listed as DE in one of my leagues is he worth a flyer given his recent tackle numbers?

Devin A said...

Why is Whitner ranked so high with only playing 68% of snaps last week? I am leaning more Jason McCourty or Addae over Whitner...big week so thanks!

Jon Serrano said...

Burfict won it for me last week but I don't like the matchup with Cleveland. You have Burfict at 1 and Orr at 5. You still think I should start Burfict over Orr??

Jim Hawkinson said...

What to do with CJ Mosely?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jack Brunt
He's a LB. Playing more snaps than usually (85%) with injuries to all the inside linebackers which has forced Matthews inside and Nick Perry being injured.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Mike Kelly
I don't trust many Pats defenders right now and their playing time varies so much from week to week. He's a DL4 in my book.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jim Hawkinson
He has a really nice matchup this week against NE. But he had a good matchup last week and didn't do much, so he's a high variance LB3 this week. Not someone I would feel comfortable putting my playoff hopes on at this point.

Tengiz Khalilov said...

With Jatavis Brown back at practice, would he take back his spot right away if healthy or is there going to be some type of platoon?

Unknown said...

I'm really feeling like DJ Swearinger is in for a big week, why Don't more people like him? With Branch and Washington out, and Mathieu potentially not playing, or on a snap count, there should be tons of tackles to go around against the Saints Offense. I'm looking at him, Byron Jones v TB, or Worley v WAS.

My league awards 1.5 per tackle, .5 per assist, 4 for a sack (including the points attributed from the tackle itself), 4 per FF, and 2 per FR. A pick is worth 6. This one is absolutely racking my brain

paulterry72 said...

@Unknown

PS - sorry for the unknown, I don't know why it's coming up that way.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I'm with you. Of all "experts", I'm the highest on Swearinger by far. I think he's in the same tier/consideration set as Jones and Worley. Jefferson is likely going to steal a good amount of tackles away as is Sio Moore. But he's a strong DB3+/DB2- this week. Trust your gut and go with Swearinger if you feel strongly about it.

@Ryan Sitzmann

Many thanks, oh wise Guru

Kuechly left off your week 15 rankings ?

-Paul

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@NUNYA BIZ
Only because I'm not sure if he's going to play...

Devin A said...

Which 2 would you recommend starting between Aaron Donald, Chandler Jones, or Frank Clark at DL1 and DL2 for the championship?

AGC said...

Hi Ryan...tough call. I am an underdog in the finals, so I'm looking for a big play at DB/S. I have Burnett but I am seriously considering a few guys on the waiver. Coleman going against ATL (they give up a lot of pts to safety's and he had a big game against them earlier in the year) or Tandy against the Saints (give up the most points to safety's and he had a good game against them in week 14). I just don't like Burnett's upside this week as he's been average at best lately. Thoughts between Burnett, Coleman, or Tandy to bring me the Championship!?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Devin A
Donald and Jones.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@AGC
Tough call to bench Burnett. He's actually been pretty good lately, last week was a down game but he had two big games prior to that. The answer to this question depends on scoring system. Coleman is your best shot if you get a lot of points for INTs. Tandy is your best high upside tackle option. Burnett is the safe play.

Soheil Sadighi said...

2 pts per tackle, 7 pts for sack. Pick 4:

Shazier, Timmons, Deion Jones, Wagner, M. Foster, M. Spaight.

I would just go off ur rankings but I'm thinking roll with both PIT & WASH guys to get all the tackles.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Soheil Sadighi
I would go off my rankings for now.

Unknown said...

PLEASE PICK 2: J. Brown, Kiko, Freeman.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
Kiko and Freeman

Chris Moroney said...

Hey Guru! Use your scoring but TFL=1pt & Sacks=only 2pt. I have only my CB left starting Marcus Peters all yr...but his numbers seem way down since back from injury Wk12....am I crazy to swap Peters out for Scandrick or maybe Steve Nelson? Have a 12pt lead and he has Dallas DEF left...you think Scandrick might be the safer floor play??
