2015 Weekly IDP Rankings: Week 17

These are The IDP Guru's Weekly IDP Rankings. This page will be updated each week to reflect that current week's rankings.

ECR stands for Expert Consensus Ranking and is the aggregated average ranking across all experts who submit their rankings to FantasyPros.com. Looking in the vs. ECR column will tell you which players I am higher (+) or lower (-) on then the rest of the IDP "expert" community.

Clicking on a specific player will allow you to view the specific rankings of all other IDP experts and how those compare to my own. Additionally, you have the ability to view recent news and notes on that specific player.

Tackle and big play heavy scoring:
--week 1 - Stephone Anthony vs AZ, Trevathon vs BAL or bucanon vs NO
--rest of season - Searcy or Bucanon

Unknown said...

I have two questions related to Week 1 IDP starters. The first deals with LBs. I have Collins, Rey, Lofton and Barrington on my squad, thank to my use of your draft guide. The question is, should I start Lofton or Barrington, since I've read that Lofton would not be a 3 down LB this year?

The second question is who I should start at DE. I have Campbell and Jordan, but I also have Biermann from Atlanta, who I owned last year and also drafted this year. He's eligible at both LB and DE. He doesn't get many sacks, but he usually gets tackles, which allowed him to rank 6th at DE last year. I was going to go with Campbell and Biermann.

ryno2020 said...

It appears Damontre Moore is only being used as a situational guy, would you go with Jacquies Smith over him?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@shane murphy
I'm a bit confused, is your league big play heavy or tackle heavy (can't really be both). Anthony's matchup isn't a good one looking back historically at 2014 numbers. Trevathan is still returning from injury. Bucannon I like but it's always hard to start a safety over a linebacker. This said, I would go with Anthony as I can see him grabbing a big play against Arizona.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
Yeah, I'd start Smith over Moore this week. Dallas has a good pass blocking line and Moore won't see a full complement of snaps. Smith will probably rotate out a bit as well, but he has a better matchup.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I'd start Barrington. I don't trust Lofton right now to play in subpackages. I really like Jordan this year and he has a nice matchup against the Cards. I'd roll with him and Campbell this week.

JD said...

Im a bit confused as to why Zach Brown isn't in your top 50 after you were so high on him all pre season?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@JD
Although I like Brown's potential upside, he still struggled with consistency issues during the preseason and was ranked LB48 in my draft guide. I don't love the matchup this week against the Titans shoddy run game, so he gets bump out of the top 50. There will be weeks where he will be a LB4 early on in the season. He's more of a guy to keep a close eye on and pounce if he has a big game.

Eric Karcinski said...

No Calvin Pryor for DBs at all?

Brett said...

What do you think of Sio Moore now that he's in Indy? (Both this week and for the season)

Brett said...

I grabbed Adam (nee Pacman) Jones with my last pick.

Scoring system: 1 point per solo tackle, 0.4 per tackle assist, 5 per interception, 6 per defensive TD, 1 point per 25 return yards (3 point bonus at 150), 12 points for a return TD

So, with that scoring system, is Jones worth owning for his role as a punt returner? (16 team league, 2 DB slots)

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Eric Karcinski
He accidentally got deleted as I was compiling these late last night. He's been re-added. Thanks for calling that out!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Brett
He's waiver wire material right now IMO. He may slide in for one of the vets next year, but I don't think he will see enough playing time in 2015 to warrant rostering (unless a starting LB suffers a serious injury).

Jones is worth as a low-end DB2 in that league size and scoring system.

Bucco Bruce said...

I am looking to pick up Preston Brown off waivers. Who would you drop for him? Zack Brown, Malcom Smith or Sam Barrington.
Thanks

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Bucco Bruce
Although I like Zach Brown's upside, he's the riskiest of the three. So I'd drop him.

Bucco Bruce said...

Thanks

hbk said...

Hello, any advice for a tackle heavy league?

Pick 3 of 4: Paul Pos, Jelani Jenkins, Paul Worrilow, Keenan Robinson

Also who would you roster 1 of 3 Deone or Rashad in Arizona or Blanton in Minni?

Thank-you for your efforts! People buy the rankings and extras it's worth it!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@hbk
I like Deone's upside of that group, but the Arizona safety situation is still a bit in the air, so there's risk. Nevertheless, he's worth the risk IMO.

Jenkins, Posluszny, Worrilow but they are all virtually interchangeable this week.

guy said...

What is going on with Anthony Hitchens (DAL)? Is he hurt? Would you drop him for Vinny Rey?

Unknown said...

No love for Bradley Mcdougald? I'm really high on him based on his second half last year, and the talk coming out of camp thus far.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@guy
He was hurt but should play on Sunday night. I would rather own Rey, however.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I'm not as high on him as others. He was successful last year but it was a small sample size. AND he's playing behind a strong set of linebackers, so I'm just not confident he will see enough opportunity to go above a DB3 ceiling.

hwgoat said...

Which 2 of 3? Laurinaitis, Preston Brown or Houston. 1 pt / tackle, . 5 assist, and 2 pt sack. I see the rankings but curios for comments. As of this moment I have Houston on the bench.
My 3rd lb is L David (or I gused that would be my 1st). Thanks for the work. This sight is the best.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@hwgoat
Laurinaitis and Brown in that scoring since it's more slanted towards tackles versus big plays.

Unknown said...

Pick 2 Alec ogletree, Cameron wake and Harrison smith.

ryno2020 said...

What are your expectations for Jelani Jenkins this season and Kwon Alexander now that he's been named the MIKE?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
I'm high on Jenkins, think he can be a top 10 fantasy linebacker on that defense. He was all over the field in preseason. Alexander's ceiling is limited with David there and Lansanah a fairly strong two down player. I think he can achieve LB3 value.

vince said...

This site amd your work is terrific. Thanks for putting this together.
Our yahoo lg uses standard scoring, but also has 3 IDP: DL, DB, and LB.
I have Morgan Burnett, inj'd. Thoughts on capitalizing on scoring system to use OAK CB (RB) Taiwan Jones?

Phil said...

What do you think of Mathieu? And would you drop him in favor of any of these: Malcolm Jenkins, D. Buchannon, Clinton-Dix, Ron Parker (this is for a short bench std scoring IDP league) LOVE your site! thx.

paulzone said...

Where would you rank Ware (vs. BAL) with this scoring system for DL?
All Tackles 1.25
Sack 7
FF 3
FR 2
Int 5

Other option for me at DL: Lawrence vs. NYG or Clayborn vs. PHI if you prefer one over Ware?

Shane in TX said...

(sorry, posting troubles above) Hey, Guru. Thanks, as always, for your tremendous work. I have Vacarro and Gipson, but am thinking of picking up Mathieu and/or Landon Collins. Should I or just stand pat? Also, do you think Gipson is a sort of "wait and see" player this year, or do you feel like he can have a year like 2013 if he stays healthy?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Shane in TX
I like Mathieu and Collins over Vaccaro and Gipson. I prefer consistent tackle producers over players that rely on big plays.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@vince
According to my rankings above, I like Quinn.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@L Hayes
You can refer to my rankings above for who I like best this week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ads50
Scoring system doesn't really affect my rankings. So please refer to my rankings above for advice.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@jtpaterson
I would look at his points scored last year and see how he stacked up against CBs.

Unknown said...

Should I play Nigel Brandham or Brandon Marshall or Randy Gregory

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Phil
I like him. I think I'd keep him. HHCD is in the same tier, but they are a coin flip.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@paulzone
Big play scoring Ware will be a top 20 DL in virtually every week. I'd start him although Baltimore is tougher to sack.

Shane in TX said...

@Ryan Sitzmann

Thanks, Guru. I felt the same and pulled the trigger on the adds. Appreciate it!

Danny Keith said...

Would you pick up R.Mathis in a 3 pt sack/ 1 pt tackle league? I have Mosely, Poz, Trevathan, and Mayo. Drop Mayo and hope for big plays with Mathis? Thanks!

Randy Limberg said...

Henry Anderson, for real? PFF loved him coming out.

Phil12 said...

Hey everyone, I have a quick question. I'm in a ESPN IDP league where you start any 3 defensive players. Is there any reason not to start all linebackers? I'm new to IDP and see Robert Quinn on our waiver wire and am wondering if it's because DE is not as valuable as the LB position. Thanks!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Randy Limberg
Not 8 solos every week real. But I think the talent and motor is there for strong DL3+ production this year.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Danny Keith
Mathis is coming off a serious injury and is old. Plus, that scoring system is fairly balanced. I'd stick with Mayo a reserve or search for a better tackle producing linebacker to replace him.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Phil12
In balanced scoring systems, Quinn's projected point totals equal a LB4/LB4-. That said, he's worth similar to a Daryl Smith or Gerald Hodges. I'd start all linebackers.

Unknown said...

Ryan, what's your take on Danny Trevathan once he gets back to an every-down role? I'm not sure how to value him in the new 3-4 scheme with Brandon Marshall in the mix. I don't know what his role is in the new defense, and my league has slightly tackle-heavy scoring.

Does he have more upside ROS than guys like Anthony Barr, Stephone Anthony or Thomas Davis?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I like Trevathan. Had him in my top 25 going into the year and although he didn't play every down last week, he had very strong numbers. No need to worry about the switch to the 3-4. I really like what I saw out of Barr last week. Kid's a stud. Moved him into the same tier as Trevathan. Since this is slightly slanted scoring towards tackles I'd stick with Danny T.

edward o'donnell said...

William Moore.... Fluke or waiver add because he has something to prove? BTW do you think Freeman is done in ATL? Thanks

TitansFan said...

Start 2 of these: Bradley Roby, Perrish Cox, Lamarcus Joyner at CB? Tramon Williams and DRC also on waivers

Thanks and great info!

Kyle said...

Thoughts on starting Jimmy Smith this week?

Drake Baldwin said...

Everson Griffen or Suh?

Dustin Welch said...

Would you drop Kyle Fuller for Josh Norman? I'm in a tackle heavy league and I liked Fuller coming into this year but making just 2 Tackles concerns me that he's continuing his inconsistent play from last year. Thanks!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@edward o'donnell
Not a fluke. Moore's been a solid DB2 fantasy option over the last couple years. He's typically more of a big play producer but sprinkles in games of above average tackle production like he did last week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@TitansFan
Tramon and Cox

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kyle
Not sure how many tackle opps he will have against that Oakland pass offense, but he has a decent shot at a pick. CB2-CB2+ in big play leagues.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Drake Baldwin
Griffen

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Dustin Welch
I'd give Fuller a little while longer. Outside of Prince and Jason Mc., no corner is really a steady tackle producer. Both Norman and Fuller will be big-play reliant and therefore inconsistent.

Mike Middleton said...

Debating starting Searcy over Cyprien this week because of his injury issues. I'm surprised at how high he is remaining in rankings accross the board. He is already without one hand and now has a calf issue. Am I crazy to consider this?

edward o'donnell said...

Someone Dropped Deandre Levy would you drop ryan shazier , cyrpien or william mooore to pick him up i currently have jamie collins oggletree, kiko alonzo and mychal kendricks

Steve said...

If levy is out again this week is Josh bynes worth picking up in his place? We start 4lbs, my others are wagner, worrilow, Thomas davis and levy still on my bench until he can play. Nate Palmer, beason, and durant are currently available. I have unga as my 4th right now assuming beason will be out.

edward o'donnell said...

@Mike Middleton

Im starting William Moore over Cyprien for the exact same reason.

Michael Dye said...

I've got Lavonte David, Derrick Johnson David Harris & Dont'a Hightower as my LBs. Trevathan & Cushing are both free agents. Should I drop Harris or Hightower or both and pick up either Trevathan, Cushing or both?

Also in ESPN Peppers & Derrick Morgan qualify as DEs even though they play the LB position. I currently have Chandler Jones & Peppers as my DEs. Players receive 2 pts for solo tackles, 1 pt for assists, 5 pts for sacks, 5 pts for INTs, 3 pts for forced funbles & fumbles recoverd, 1 pt each for stuffs and passes defended and 2 pts for each safety. Last week Morgan had 19 pts, Peppers 16.5 and Jones 6. I know Jones is an elite DE, but should I drop him and pick up Morgan due to the increased opportunities at LB?

Matthew Thompson said...

Any reason you've moved Griffin above Searcy after 1 week? Noticed it here and in the ROS ranks. I have Searcy but Griffin is currently available. Should I switch?

Christoph Mayr said...

Earl Thomas, T.J. McDonald, Morgan Burnett, Johnathan Cyprien. Which 2 should start?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Mike Middleton
Not crazy. I think Cyprien gets the benefit of the doubt here because the DB position is so volatile from week to week and even the "experts" are still trying to figure out who is real and who is a fluke. Therefore, a guy like Cyprien who has traditionally had a very high floor gets ranked higher. I like Searcy coming into the year and the game scripts was probably the reason for his poor performance in Week 1. So I wouldn't blame you for starting him over Cyprien at all.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@edward o'donnell
My gut tells me that Levy is going to be out longer than most expect. The sudden escalation of this injury and the fact that it's a hip injury concerns me. That said, he should be a top 10 LB upon his return so he's worth picking up and stashing if you have the bench space. I would drop Moore if you aren't starting him.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Steve
Bynes is not playing in subpackages which makes it difficult for me to recommend him over Palmer who is expected to play every down. I'd go with Palmer. Unless Beason doesn't play, then I'd go with Unga.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Christoph Mayr
Please refer to the rankings above.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Michael Dye
I'd drop Harris and Hightower for Trevathan and Cushing. Trevathan continues to not play every down but he's been productive nonetheless. Gonna be studly once gets back to playing every down. Cushing should be quite productive on that defense as long as he stays healthy.

I've downgraded Jones slightly in my projections based on last week, but he's still ahead of Morgan in terms of total projected points. But they aren't as far off as one may think.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Matthew Thompson
I'm struggling with the Tennessee safety situation in all honesty. They both had poor games but missed 20 or so snaps because of the blowout. Griffen has a stronger track record of production but has been inconsistent at times. I'm probably going to bump Searcy back up a little bit as I think I had a little bit of a kneejerk reaction. In my mind, it's a coin flip in value between the two until I see another game.

Devin said...

What do you think of TJ Carrie? It seems he isn't ranked by anybody, but he did well against AJ Green last week and he returns punts. In a league that punt return yards/TD's are awarded do you think he is better than Alterraun Verner? Also it would be cool to see a kick returner IDP rankings sometime in the future, Thanks!

Unknown said...

I'm curious to know people's thoughts on Hightower. He was all over the place in Week 1 and looked good.

Michael Walsdorf said...

Where's the weekly ranking for week 2?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Devin
If I get some time, I'll compile a IDP returner list. But it's pretty short list (Carrie, Jones, etc.).

Depends on the scoring but Carrie could be more valuable than Verner. Although I like Verner's matchup against the pass-heavy Saints.

Beaster said...

Ryan, what are your thoughts on Lavonte David? He sure hasn't put up the kinds of elite numbers expected of him so far. Any reason for his low production that you can see? Is it possibly game flow or do you think his level of play has decreased from previous years?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Beaster
Level of play has been fine. It's been more a circumstance of game script/flow IMO. He should be more than OK.

JackHsia said...

What happened to Derrick Johnson last week with his 2 solo tackles yet 73 snaps?

Max ax said...

I picked up Kam Chancellor for this week going against back up QB. Surprised he is not listed??

Unknown said...

I looked at the rankings but to be honest I'm very confused for the long term.
I have Derrick Johnson and Ryan Shazier in my lineup right now. But I also see Telvin Smith and Keenan Robinson on the waiver wire. Gut feeling for the long term? Shazier looked like a stud...

Ben Strauss said...

Need to start two of three (to go with Watt) Henry Anderson, J. Smith or Demarcus Ware (DL eligible). Thanks

Beaster said...

With Shazier out for the week, I need to find a replacement in my tackle-heavy league. Derrick Johnson is available, but put up a measly 2 points last week. Just a blip, based on gameflow?

Michael Walsdorf said...

2nd request. Where are the 2015 Weekly IDP Rankings? I see the link for the ROS rankings but this forum does not list the current weekly rankings like previous years. Am I missing something or are these no longer provided?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@JackHsia
Seemed to be a result of the game flow. Broncos really struggled to get a run game going. He should be fine moving forward.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Max ax
He was added later in the week when I made some updates. I still don't completely trust him as I imagine he will be on some type of snap count limitation this week. That said, He's more of a DB3/4 this week against a Bears offense that probably won't be on the field much in Week 3.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I like Shazier and was high on him coming into the year. He's still inconsistent though. We are going to have some dud games scattered throughout but the upside games keep him in that LB2+ conversation with Robinson, Smith, Johnson. Really don't a big difference between them all really.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Beaster
Yes, I believe Johnson's poor production was a fluke and more result of game flow. I'm still confident in him as a top 15 LB most weeks.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Michael Walsdorf
Hey Mike, I'm confused. You posted this on the Weekly Rankings page. So you are in the right place.

Unknown said...

My league features a terrible scoring. 1 point tackles, .5 assists, 2 sacks, 1 tfl, 3 interception, 2 fumble, 2 fumble recovery, and a crazy 1 point per yard returned on turnover. So defensive players like cj mosley and tyrann mathieu got 50+ points last week. Assuming you could have open reign over all the players and you are expected to outscore your opponent on average of 20%, should I pick up dbs or lbs for my 3 flex idp spots. On one hand I think the very best lbs will tend to average a bit more, but does this crazy one point per yard returned make tashaun gipson and glover quin type players the better picks? Or are consistent safeties still better that still have that chance of crazy interception return yards?

Huseyin Aksu said...

I couldn't find Vic Beasley and Pernell McPhee on this?

Unknown said...

Thoughts on Jonathan Cyprien? I dont even see him on the injury report this week and he is listed as probable, where would you rank him if he does indeed play?

L Hayes said...

Jaye Howard or Gino Atkins? I know Atkins is in your top 10 but jaye has been a tackle machine

Brent Deangelis said...

any updates on ansah injury or pacman jones injury?

Unknown said...

Why is DeMarcus Ware not listed in the top 50? ESPN's week 4 IDP rankings has him listed 6th or 7th best play. Also after reading the comments, he was described as a every week top 20 starter...

Thank you!
Steve

Uy said...

In a tackle friendly scoring system, who do I go with my flex position: David Harris or Charles Woodson?

TitansFan said...

Ryan,

Would you start T. Robinson (vs Phi ranked 10th for Ss) over L. Collins (vs Buf ranked 22nd for Ss)?

Also, what do you think of T. Newman this week vs Den (1 rank for CBs) and he as played 96% of snaps this season. He has 13 tackles on the season. Options are him or L.Joyner, T. Williams, B. Benwikere, or T. Carrie

Thank you!

Devin A said...

Where would Clowney rank this week as a DL? I read he played all snaps but 3 last week and he has been getting really close on some sacks.

ryno2020 said...

Would you drop Kwon Alexander or Stephone Anthony for Cushing or Bradham?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Huseyin Aksu
That's because they are listed as LBs in the platform I use to publish my rankings (and are therefore that not valuable). I like Beasley as a DL2+ this week (great matchup). And Mcphee as a DL3-/DL4+.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
He's now been added.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@L Hayes
Atkins. Maybe I'm drinking too much of the Kool-Aid on him, but he's been very disruptive so far and looks to be back to his old self. Big games are coming. Howard is solid, but I don't see as much upside there in that scheme.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
The matchup against ARZ this week is brutal. No linebacker as yet to put up decent numbers against them outside of the beast known as Navorro Bowman.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
He's listed as a LB in the platform I use and is therefore not very valuable. As a DL, he's a top 10 play most weeks.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Uy
I'd go with Harris as Woodson relies more so on big plays.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Devin A
He'd fall into the DL3+ range for me this week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
I'd drop Alexander for Bradham or Cushing. Bradham is the safer option but lacks the upside of Cushing. I like Alexander but his upside is limited with David there. They all fall into the same tier.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@TitansFan
Denver's numbers are inflated because Manning has thrown a couple pick sixes which aren't likely to happen much again. I'd go with Tramon this week who also has a good matchup. I'd also still roll with Collins.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Brent Deangelis
Jones is listed as probable so he's likely to play this week. Ansah, on the other hand, is shaping up to be 50/50 shot and I'm leaning towards he won't play.

Unknown said...

@Ryan Sitzmann

Lol, I'm trying to decide between Ogletree and Bowman. My gut says Bowman will get his tackles on Starks/Lacy this week as they run out the clock. But, Ogletree has been putting up the stats last two weeks. I think I'll keep rolling with Bowman.

Keaten Claney said...

With that crazy scoring, I would go with Quin or Gipson type. I would go back to top scorers from previous years and see how they stood up against guys like Cyprien, Reshad Jones, Burnett.

First experience with Idp....10 team league, each team plays any two Idp players. Scoring is Tackle Solo 1 Sack 2 Interception 2 Fumble Force 1 Fumble Recovery 1 Defensive Touchdown 6 Pass Defended 1 Block Kick 4 Extra Point Returned 2
(No points for Assisted tackles). I drafted Lavonte David and Bobby Wagner. They are always high in the weekly rankings but not scoring high as others in league (because no points for assists?) Was tempted to pick up Brandon Marshall Jason Hicks Malcolm Smith Ogletree Preston Brown or Bowman this week. Assume I Should be playing the match ups more or continue to wait on these two? Thanks for your website, I'm learning a lot here.

Should I roll with Zeke Ansah or look to waive wire? Also need 4, Mychael Kendricks, Freeman, Durant, D. Johnson, and Bradham?

darryle Moody said...

Ryan, who do you think I should have as my lone DE (14 Team League)? Derek Morgan (Ten) or Pernell Mcphee (Chi) I'm kinda leaning toward Mcphee because he's scored 10 & 11 points in weeks 3 & 4; but before the bye week, Morgan had 3 sacks before he laid an egg of 1 point against Indianapolis. Appreciate your site and your opinion - thanks!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@darryle Moody
Mcphee would be my guy. High floor option at this point with a great matchup against KC this week. One of the better sleeper plays.

MJ said...

@Ryan SitzmannDonald or McPhee

MJ said...

Lavonte David has been fairly disappointing from an IDP aspect this season. Thoughts on moving on from him? Best available: Malcolm Smith, Brandon Marshall, Kikaha, Barr, Rey, Hightower

Tony Gross said...

You have Michael Johnson DL Listed for TB vs JAC, but he is CIN I believe. Does he work up the chain because the Seahawk O line is full of people on the witness protection program. Does he jump a guy like Henry Anderson who is questionable, or a guy like Robert Quinn who has to try to bring down Rodgers who in the past has been sackable,in the past, but not as much this year and the Rams D is not on turf this week.

Unknown said...

I am having a hard time getting am accurate ranking for Derrick Morgan TEN. My league lists him as a LB, but he is often found on DL rankings. I'm trying to decide between he and Geno Atkins in a big-play-heavy league. Thanks.

Steven Reynolds said...

In a dynasty league at LB, Ramik Wilson, Manti Te'o and Lawrence Timmons are on the waiver wire. My starters are Sean Lee and N Bowman with my bench guys as Keenan Robinson, Zach Brown and Demario Davis. Would you drop anyone to pick up the previously mentioned guys on the waiver wire? Solo and assist tackles count the same (so, somewhat tackle heavy). Thanks.

Zachary R said...

You like C Dunlap more that S Tuitt this week? Chargers OLine is in horrible shape and they have hardly any healthy WRs... Or is starting Tuitt over him just chasing last weeks points...?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@MJ
Stick with David. He's probably not quite as elite as we thought but he's due to perform much better than he has. The Bucs have had limited tackle opps and weird stat crews skewing his lines towards assists. Better times ahead.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I give Atkins the edge because Seattle is a fantastic matchup for pass rushers.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Zachary R
Both have great matchups but Dunlap is the better and more consistent fantasy option. Seattle has been getting sacked a ton and allowing a ton of pressure.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Steven Reynolds
I'd drop Brown for Timmons given the scoring system.

Shane Stanton said...

Guru, Thoughts on Rolando McClain this week? Tackle Heavy league. I Have Teo, McClain, Hightower, Bradham. Can start two.

Huseyin Aksu said...

Pernell McPhee or Calais Campbell for my Week 5 DL spot?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Shane Stanton
McClain has had conditioning issues so I'm a little skeptical he plays every down this week. I'd start Teo and Hightower.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Huseyin Aksu
I'd go with McPhee.

Phil said...

I picked up Malik Jackson (dropped Cameron Jordan) - did you write about him in your waiver wire pickups because I was surprised I did not see it unless I missed it? Malik does not get a lot of IDP press on the internet.

I need to start two of these DE's:
Sheldon Richardson, Malik Jackson, Olivier Vernon, Lawrence Guy, Ryan Delaire

While I'm excited that Richardson is playing again, I'm nervous to put him straight into my lineup when Guy and Delaire have such great matchups. I was thinking of starting Delaire + Jackson, am I crazy?

Jeffrey Moritz said...

I've been knocked around on my LB's. Have Wagner, Levy, and Posluszny.(Start 2) I've picked up Eric Kendricks for Levy. Hope Wagner plays, but if not (or at least for this week) who's the better replacement Derrick Johnson (@MIN) or Clay Matthews (vs SD) or any other of the guys on your IDP waiver wire pickup better? Thanks,

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Phil
I talked about him as a sleeper throughout the preseason and have mentioned him on the site numerous times. I like him a lot. Although you are probably kicking yourself for dropping Jordan now after his 3 sack performance last night.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@jar
Not ruled out, but his injury type of typically a multiple week injury. So I'm not expecting him to play this week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
I think he does. He's too good relative to everyone else on the team to keep off the field too much. May bump him down to LB1- depending on what I see this week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Nick Smith
I have similar concerns but I still think him at 60% of snaps is better than Delaire. I'd go Jackson and Richardson.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jeffrey Moritz
I think Posluszny plays this week now as he was upgraded to probable. So him and Johnson. Matthews over Johnson if big play scoring.

Guru, I need help. I have Ungaro in my lineup, but Beason is starting. I'm a few points behind and need to get this right. Do I stick with Ungaro or play Beason? Hicks is also available so he might be a better choice. 1 pt / tackle, 2 sack. Please shine your wisdom on me.

hwgoat said...

Unga. Stupid auto correct.

Hey did I miss something on Anthony Barr he has been great up until this last week and was wondering if, it was just one of those games or should I look for another LB?

Steven Reynolds said...

Pick 2: E Ansah, C Jordan or Derrick Morgan.

Steven Reynolds said...

Scoring:

Each Sack: 4
Total Tackles: 2
Each Fumble Recovered: 3
Each Fumble Forced: 3
Each Safety: 3
Passes Defensed: 1

Thank you!!

K Mack qualifies at DL in my league. He a better play than Everson Griffen this week?

Adam1234 said...

is it worth dropping DeAndre Levy now he's had hip surgery? I've got Clay Matthews on bye this week and Keenan Robinson hasn't practiced, we start 3 LB's in my league and I've got Jamie Collins & Derrick Johnson so far, not sure about K Rob tho so should I get rid of Levy and grab Wilhoite or Kendricks who are both available in my waivers?

Mary Anne Flanagan said...

Can only keep two: Sean Lee, Reshad Jones, Telvin Smith
Scoring is FR, INT = 2, everything else =1 point (except assist = .5)
Which two would you recommend

ads50 said...

Kendricks!

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I think it was a combination of bad game script for him and Kendricks taking some of his opportunity away. He probably needs to be downgraded a bit back into the LB3+ tier.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Steven Reynolds
Ansah and Jordan

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Mary Anne Flanagan
Sean Lee and Jones. I usually would take the LB over safety. But Jones is just a tackle beast.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Adam1234
I think at best Levy makes it back for 4 games. But I would be surprised. I think he's done for the year. Robinson has a nice matchup this week but has failed to do much with them this year. I like Kendricks and Wilhoite a good amount ROS. I think I would go with either one over Robinson.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I'd go with Mack. Griffen is working his way back from illness.

ryno2020 said...

Do you think Avery Williamson returns to an every down LB this week?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
If he's healthy, yes. He just doesn't have enough upside to take the risk though. LB4 in my book.

What's up with JJ Watt? Not only are his tackle/Sack #'s down, they haven't put him in on offense in red zone as they did last year. I invested a lot in him. Very disappointing. Thoughts on him moving forward?

Adam1234 said...

Mark Barron or T.J. McDonald, heard Barron has been moved to linebacker which could make him useful?

ian wilson said...

Would You drop Clinton Dix David Harris or E.Kendricks for D.Hightower?

Brian Thompson said...

For leagues where McPhee has DL eligibility (1 point solo, 3 points per sack, 2 for FF, 2 FR), would you start him above Chandler Jones this week?

Unknown said...

Is Sean Lee still clearing out the cobwebs or has the return of Hardy and McClain lowered his opportunities?

Steven Reynolds said...

In a dynasty league where my two starts at LB are N Bowman and S Lee...would you drop Kenaan Robinson for Danny Trevathan? I obviously would like stability at my back up for this year (in case Bowman or Lee go down with injury), but also want to consider the future. I know Robinson is an every down player, but doesnt appear to be playing well. My other back up at LB is Te'o.

Each Sack: 4
Each Tackles 2 (Solo and assist count the same)
Each Fumble Recovered: 3
Each Fumble Forced: 3
Each Safety: 3
Each INT: 3
Passes Defensed: 1

Thanks!

Clint

Picked up Wilhoite this week and realized he's playing St. Louis who has given the least points to LBs, but I see you have him ranked at #9. Just curious why you have him ranked that high. I have yet to see him play, all I know is hes had a damn good last 3 weeks. That said, starting out he had a bad couple weeks, did something change that caused his uptick in production, making him still a safe play against St. Louis?

Michael Walsdorf said...

Start S. Lee [dal] vs SEA or M. Smith [oak] vs NYJ week 8?

ian wilson said...

Clinton Dix (Denver) , Hightower (Miami) , D.Harris (oakland) Week 8? choose 1

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Michael Walsdorf
Lee

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@clint
Wilhoite falls into the matchup independent category for me as SF receives a ton of tackle opps against everyone they play. Bowman started to lose snaps to Hodges last week and if that continues Wilhoite's number should stay steady.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Steven Reynolds
Yeah, I would even though Danny T still isn't every down. He's been seeing his playing time slightly increase each week and is still performing better than Robinson on less than every down snaps.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Adam1234
Barron

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Unknown
I think McClain is cutting into some of his tackles. He had a weird assist stat line against NYG. He was in on 9 tackles even though the Cowboys D wasn't on the field a ton. He'll be fine as long he stays healthy.

Greg's Mom said...

So over Jamie Collins 1 solo last night!

Kevin K said...

Need 3 laurnaites or beason or Rey and j freeman

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
James L., Rey, Freeman

clint said...

Thoughts on Kiko?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@clint
I think he splits time with Hicks and/or Ryans. Most likely Hicks. I'd be surprised if we see him play every down over the next couple weeks.

Justin Loiland said...

Can't decide who to pick up for my DB for rest of season. Or maybe I should stream? I'm choosing between burnett, jenkins, church, adams, Adam jones, and maybe even weddle right now. Maybe add clinton-dix to the mix.

Side question - hasn't michael Hyde been filling in for burnett? It looked like when I looked at his stats like he was a full time player even on the weeks burnett played.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Justin Loiland
You can use my rest of season IDP rankings to help with that. Hyde was filling in but he still played every down last week as the nickleback. That probably won't be the case every week as it will depend on the matchup. But he should see enough time to remain valuable as a DB3-DB3+.

Zachary R said...

Someone dropped E Weddle a couple of weeks ago, we only start 1 DB - I currently have M Burnett and J Cyprien. Should I drop M Burnett for E Weddle? (2 pts per TK/Sack, 10 pts per INT, 12 pts per DTD

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Zachary R
I'd grab Weddle over Cyprien and Burnett in that scoring. Need to make sure he plays this week though.

ryno2020 said...

Any reason why Will Allen isn't on your list? He returned and played every down last week

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
Just forgot to add him in. Thanks for catching that. Now he's in there at #21.

Stephen Kahler said...

I've had Vincent Rey and he's been consistent all season. What happens now with Burfict back and Rey Maleluga playing this week?

Paul Jackson said...

Rob Ninkovich or Chris Baker?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Stephen Kahler
Until we see Burfict establish himself as a consistent every down player, Rey should be good to use a LB2-.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Paul Jackson
Ninkovich

Relik0414 said...

Barron or Mathieu? Avril or Cox? I see your rankings but have been starting Mathieu all yr long, so should I go with Barron. And I have been struggling with a defensive end all yr long as well. Any sleepers for this week over avril or Cox?

Amanda Poulin said...

Why are you so down on Mychal Kendricks this week(-19 vs ECR)? I see the Bucs are 31st in points allowed to LB's this year but do you have other factors affecting your rank? Thanks in advance

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Amanda Poulin
Down on him because of the matchup and more importantly because he rotated with Ryans last week and only played 60% of the snaps. Makes him risky moving forward until we get clarification on LB playing time in Philly.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Relik0414
I like Barron personally because of his tackle consistency. Mathieu gets the edge in bigger play formats. Can't go wrong with either. I like Avril's matchup a lot this week and he's been consistent. Cox tends to be more up and down this year.

Relik0414 said...

Thanks you
