2014 Weekly IDP Rankings: Week 17

These are The IDP Guru's Weekly IDP Rankings. This page will be updated each week to reflect that current week's rankings.

ECR stands for Expert Consensus Ranking and is the aggregated average ranking across all experts who submit their rankings to FantasyPros.com. Looking in the vs. ECR column will tell you which players I am higher (+) or lower (-) on then the rest of the IDP "expert" community.

Clicking on a specific player will allow you to view the specific rankings of all other IDP experts and how those compare to my own. Additionally, you have the ability to view recent news and notes on that specific player.

I was thinking of starting Clemons ( v PHI) over Clayborn ( v CAR) this week due to matchup. Is that thinking off? How far below Clayborn would you rank Clemons?

Michael Middleton said...

@Michael Middleton haha, sorry, didn't realize I could scroll down and see Clemons @ 30.

Starting 4, David(Vs. Car), Riley(Vs. Hou), Kendricks(Vs. Jax) Wagner(Vs. GB), Worrilow(Vs. NO), Minter(Vs. SD)

I was thinking of starting David, Riley, Kendricks, Wagner

Because I am afraid of Worrilow against NO because they usually give up few LB points. Who would you advise I start?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Midnightdixie L
I find Riley to be the least compelling of that great overall. However, Kendricks may struggle with opportunity against a lackluster Jacksonville offense. Less worried about Worrilow. I'd still stick with Kendricks though given his upside potential. Riley may lost more tackles to Robinson they some think and that's why I have him lower. Additionally, HOU may struggle to control the ball offensively as well.

How do you feel about Calvin Pryor this year? I read recently he has rushed the qb a total of 13 times during the pre season

Thomas said...

Start 2LBs solo 1/ assist .5/ Sack 4/ INT5/ force fum 2.5/ fum recovery 2.5

I'm currently starting I'm currently starting Mychal Kendrick's and Wesley Woodyard. Should I be rostering Brad Jones over my current starting LBs?

Tyson said...

Question ab my 3 D(LB/DL/DB) Spots - Scoring - solo 1/ 3 sack/ 1.5 shared sack/ 3 int/ 2 FF and FR/ 0 assist. I rostered Chandler Jones, but am wondering if I should drop him for some waiver options his week and moving forward remainder of the yr. Should I drop Jones for Von Miller? Also, Trevathan is available, should I add and stash or wait a couple weeks? Whats his upside in my scoring system?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

I like has potential as long as Rex Ryan continues to use him right. I have him as a DB3+/DB2.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

Nope. Both Kendricks and Woodyard have better upside.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

I'd keep Jones. I think he could finish as top scoring Fantasy DL. Trevathan should have DB2+ value upon return. Roster him if you could afford to sit on a bench spot.

marflan said...

I can play 2 any def position. Currently have Riley & Kendricks. Church, Cyprien & Vaccaro are all available. Should I drop 1 or both LBs and pick up DBs? If yes, Which to drop & which to pick up? Scoring is:
3 pts. sack, int, FF, FR, Blocked kick
2 pts. tackle
1 pt. assist, stuff, passes defensed

backriver111 said...

Any thoughts on the LB situation between Irving and Marshall in Denver? I'm seeing conflicting reports on who will see the field the most. Are either one worth rostering until Travathan is back?

Ben Strauss said...

I'm not loving my LB4 in Donta Hightower. Guys available are Brandon Marshall, Sio Moore, Michael Wilhoite, Joplo Bartu, Jason Worilds, Jaspar Brinkley. Any of these better or stick with Hightower? I have Collins, Ogletree and Minter as other LBs

Will_LB said...

In league where Clowney counts as a DE would you start him over JPP? In general where down Clowney rank as a DE week-to-week?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@marflan
I'd drop Riley and pick up Church who should put up very nice tackle numbers this week as the Cowboys are still in shambles with their front seven.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@backriver111
Pretty sure Marshall will see more playing time this week. Marshall may be worth rostering as a desperation LB3 in deeper leagues or a decent flyer as an LB4 until Danny T. returns.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Ben Strauss
I'd go with Marshall over Hightower this week. Sio Moore is you get a decent amount of points for big plays.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Will_LB
I'd still start JPP. But I consider Clowney an DL2/DL2+ on a week-to-week basis.

Clay Elmore said...

What you think ab Bucannon this week? Don't see him ranked, but with Mathieu out thinking he could have a good week?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Clay Elmore
Even with the injury to Mathieu, I don't foresee Bucannon getting a ton of playing time outside of subpackages. I'd wait and see what happens with him this week before putting him in as a fantasy starter.

Uy said...

Guru, for my flex position should I start Lance Briggs or Laron Landry in a tackle emphasized league?

LL abLa said...

Not sure what happened but the post that my question was on is gone now...Anyway here's my updated question...

I'm starting Wake as my DE but we also start 2 LB's, 2 DB's, and an IDP flex. Here's what who I have..

LB's: Worrilow, Brad Jones, and Nate Irving
DB's: Harrison Smith, Bernard Pollard, and Morgan Burnett

I'm also considering picking up Burris and/or Preston Brown..

What do you think?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Uy
Briggs

LL abLa said...

@LL abLa

forgot to add he scoring...
1 pt = tackle solo
.5 pt = tackle assist
3.75 pt = sack
8 pt = int
2.5 pt = pass defended
1.25 pt = tackle for loss

Jason R said...

Dear Guru, Awesome work! I won my league last year thanks to you! My question: I have been offered a trade: LB Jelani Jenkins for RB Donald Brown (San Diego). Offense is standard scoring. Defense is 1.5 pts per tackle and 1 pt. for an assist. My other LBs are Willis, Cushing, Brad Jones, Briggs, Mauga, McClain, and Lamur. We can start 4 LBs. Do you think Jenkins will have a strong R.O.S? I'm worried about Brad Jones and Cushing R.O.S. I think Brown has some upside but he could go back to the bench when Ryan Matthews returns from injury (4-6 weeks). I don't know much about Jenkins other than he was on your waiver wire this week and the guy offering the trade beat me to him. We have a deep league with 12 players and we start 2 DLs, 2 DBs, 2LBs, and 2 Flex. I look forward to your advice. Thanks again for your help! Sincerely, Jason

Tyson said...

A couple questions looking immediate impact and future impact. Should I be concerned about Mychal Kendricks this week? Word is he left for calf spasm, but getting an MRI doesnt exactly line up with that injury. Preston Brown worth a look as a filler? Danny Trevathan a better option than either Kendricks, Chandler Jones or Worrilow ROS? Is Reshad Jones worth a look when/if reinstated and is he a better option ROS than Antrel Rolle? Thoughts on Kyle Fullers impact with Peanut done, Rookie Corner Rule make him really serviceable? I think FF Sharks "Frankencorner" piece is pretty cool, have you seen it? Thanks again!

ryno2020 said...

Who has more value at the safety position in ARI, Jefferson or Johnson?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jason R
I think Jenkins has LB3+ upside. Cushing will be fine once the coaching staff allows him to play 100% of the snaps. I tend not to trade offensive players for defensive as IDPs are much easier to scoop on the wavier wire.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@ryno2020
Jefferson

mrjnthompson said...

James Thompson
Do you rate Vaccaro against Vikes higher than Goldon against Falcons? Goldson has hot hand (as it were) and Vaccaro's two line stats not great so far.

Jason R said...

Guru, Would you rather pick up E. Ansah or Jared Allen off waivers? Thanks

SinVin said...

Guru,

ROS. Cyprien, Vaccaro, Burnett, TJ Ward, Weddle, or Whitner? All on my waiver somehow.

Also, you think Kyle Fuller could be a CB1 in CB required league. Got Honey Badger on bench.

Peace...

Ryan Barsotti said...

Hey guru, which one LB and which one DB are better to keep on my roster for the next few games?
LB: Laurinaitis or Demeco Ryans?
DB: TJ Ward or DJ Swearinger or Leodis McKelvin?
Tak-1
Ast-.5
Sack-3
FF-4
INT-5
Pass def-2

Ryan Barsotti said...

@Ryan Barsotti I'd like to add Brandon Marshall to my LB choices. Thanks for the feedback guru!

Dustin Welch said...

Hey Guru, great site and I really trust your advice. With Gerald McCoy hurt I picked up Wallace Gilberry to fill in one of my DL spots. My league starts 2 DL so I would like to have 3 DL on my team so I can play the match ups. With players like Ansah, Huston and Casey available on the wire would you drop Gilberry for any of those guy to roll with for the rest of the season? TKS - 2.5, TKA - .5, SK - 5. Thanks Guru.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jason R
I would pick up Ansah. Really like his ceiling. Has elite level pass rushing skills and could quickly elevate himself into the DL1 category if he improves his tackle numbers.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@SinVin
I like Weddle, Cyprien, Vaccaro, Whitner, Ward. I think Fuller can be a CB1.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Ryan Barsotti
James L. (but Ryans if Kendricks is due to miss multiple games) and Swearinger

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Dustin Welch
I'd drop Gilberry for Ansah. Nice high upside DL3 option he could quickly become every week starter in your league.

Danny Keith said...

Guru, what are your thoughts on C.Jones DL going forward? I keep reading that the three-man front in NE is hurting his IDP value. Should I try and trade him, and for whom? I have C.Calais and C. Liuget in 1 pt tackle, 1/2 pt assist, and 6 pt sack league. Thanks!

Matt Marhevka said...

As always thanks for the work! Start 3 IDP, any position, 1pt-tackle, 0-assist, 4-sack, 3/4-FF/FR, 4-Int 1-PD. As of right now starting Chandler Jones, Worrilow, and Mauga (Foote/Dansby on bye). None of the matchups seem great. Should have picked up Keenan Robinson but didn't except NYG to control that game.

Thoughts on dropping Mauga for any of the following: McClain/Hitchens(whoevers starting?) vs NO, D'Qwell Jackson vs. Tenn, or Aaron Williams @ Hou?

Tyson said...

With Tahir Whitehead listed as Detroit Lions new starting MLB, how do you think he will finish this week against the Jets friendly matchup?

Greg Francesca said...

Which LB should I pickup? Hitchens, Bradham, Whitehead or Hodges? 1pt solo or assist tackles
Please rank, thanks!

Lupe Sanchez said...

Is sio moore playing this weekend?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Danny Keith
It's not so much the 3-4 scheme that's hurting Jones' value, it's his role within the scheme. He's lining up directly on a tackle which is going to make it difficult for him to produce at his top 5 DL1 projection. I would try to sell him high, if possible. He should have enough perceived value to land another current DL1.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Matt Marhevka
With Jerrell Freeman out, I'd go with Jackson as a short term pickup.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Tyson
I think he's a worthwhile LB3 grab in 10 team leagues for owners looking for a high upside option. Whitehead is likely to play every down and has a really nice matchup against the Jets, so he could easily outproduce my ranking. There's just some risk as he has very little starting experience and Levy could sap up a lot of the tackles.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Greg Francesca
I like Hodges quite a bit as a value play this week. Followed by Whitehead, Bradham, and Hitchens.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Lupe Sanchez
Sio Moore is officially OUT this week.

Acadien said...

Corey Graham is one of your best CB on this list but he is not even starting as per your Weekly IDP start and sit ???

Matt Walsh said...

Hey guru. I currently have swearenger and whitner. I like demps and reshad Jones who are available. I do get return yardage points. Thoughts? Solo tackle heavy league. Thanks.

M.D. said...

What's your ranking of Mason Foster if he's available this week?

M.D. said...

And Nigel Brandham is back at practice as of yesterday? are you ranking him as well..

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Matt Walsh
Jones and Swearinger for me.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@M.D.
Foster would get ranked within the 25-30ish range if he plays. Not high on Bradham as the Bills linebacker situation is a hard one to pinpoint right now. He'd be a LB4.

Kevin K said...

Need one Barron or R. Jones and Demps do get points for returns .5 per yard ?

Devin said...

What are your thoughts on Wilkerson vs Mario Williams for both this week and rest of season? Both you and fantasy pros has them ranked similarly, but Wilkerson has outscored Williams or tied (in only one game) for all games except week 2, thanks for your help.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Devin
Wilkerson is definitely the safer, higher floor option. But I like Williams matchup against the Vikings more.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
I like Jones.

Kent Boring said...

Hey Ryan - who do you like most now and long-term between Larry Foote, Nigel Bradham, Justin Durant and Dont'a Hightower?

Greg Francesca said...

Who would you pick up: Sio Moore, Burris, Bradham, Jaquan Williams, Durante? Please rank & why?
.5pt solo or asst
Thx!

Shane in TX said...

Hi, Guru, thanks for all that you do here, as always. What do you think about Alex Okafor in Arizona? Will he have good production now that Abraham's out? Thank you, Sir!

Kevin K said...

Need one off waiver wire D. Butler or J. Beason or N. Bradham with that bills stat crew?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kent Boring
All are pretty much in the same group for this season, although I'd give Hightower the edge with Mayo out now.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Greg Francesca
Hi Greg, please refer to my rankings. I like Moore the most as he has little tackle competition and is receiving good tackle opportunity. He gets dinged this week though because of the bad ARZ matchup.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Shane in TX
He likely falls into that LB4+ range at most unless your league is heavily slanted towards big plays.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
Butler. He's rebounded his last couple games and has a nice matchup against KC.

Jason Patton said...

I have Blanton and Reshad Jones.... Church is a FA...I could grab him but is it worth dropping either one of those guys?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jason Patton
Definitely hold Jones. Church has been a disappointment this year but the Giants matchup has been a very good for safeties so far. Blanton is a consistent producer but doesn't get you anything outside of tackles. I'd go with Church this week and you likely can go back to Blanton or another safety moving forward.

JB said...

Looking at your weekly rankings, you have Church ahead of Kam Chancellor (@stl) and you seem to like Church's matchup this week. Based on this week only, would you recommend dropping Chancellor for Church? My league is 2pt/tackle, 1pt/at, 5pt/pass defended, 6point/int. Thanks in advance. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

bryan said...

greenway at 6? you had him as a low floor lb2 in the waiver column

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@bryan
I'm probably overestimating his value this week in all honesty, but given all the injuries to linebackers there aren't a lot of other guys I trust more than Greenway. He's one of the most consistent linebackers out there and for that he gets a bump in the rankings. Although at the end of the day, his production will likely settle in the LB2 range. He has a slightly above average matchup this week.

SinVin said...

Do you trust Burnett plays? Should I swap for Cyprien or R Jones? Maybe Clinton-Dix?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@SinVin
With those other options available I wouldn't depend on Burnett. I like Cyprien a lot with Paul P. out now.

Brent Deangelis said...

Laron landry doesnt make top 50?

SinVin said...

It's time for the Honey Badger? Been hoping to use him. CB required league and he's eligible.

Keztag said...

You have TJ Ward rated -31 versus ECR. Can you please explain your reasoning? Thanks! Joe

Devin said...

Hey Guru a couple questions. In one league I have Eric Berry and Earl Thomas to choose from at DB2 with Cyprien locked in as my DB1. I am leaning towards Thomas due to the uncertainty of how much Berry plays this week, thoughts? Also in another league similarly I have KJ Wright, Kendricks, and Willis to choose from on my LB3 and I am torn but leaning towards Wright, thoughts? In both situations I am leaning towards the highest floor guy since I have a decent lead so far, so who do you think represents the highest floor player in both cases? Thanks a lot!

Kevin K said...

Need one out of P. Reilly or D.Butler and V.Rey Or JT. Thomas?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Brent Deangelis
He has yet to be activated and there is a real possibility that he doesn't play this week. If he starts, I'd be comfortable with him as a strong DB2.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Keztag
He has only eclipsed 4 solo tackles once all year, and that was only 5! I'm down with the guy for the most part. I'd have to be in a deep league and/or desperate to start him at this point, and even then it would have to be in an ideal matchup.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Devin
Berry is going to play this week and Kendricks should see a dramatic increase in his snap count this week according to reports. Given your other options listed aren't standouts this week, I'd go with Berry and Kendricks.

Brendan N said...

Do you think V Rey will draw the start with Burfict out? He put up great numbers against the colts two weeks ago and they're up against the Jags this week. Im looking at him, M Foster or Khalil Mack? Thanks Guru

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
Butler's inconsistency drives me nuts personally. Plus his matchup is worse than Riley's, so I'm going with Riley. Thomas for me as he's playing every down on a defense that should see a ton of tackle opportunity.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Brendan N
Rey should start. I like Mason Foster better though.

David Lord said...

LB: Lofton or Dansbt this week?
DB: Cyprien or Berry this week? Going forward?

Here is our scoring systemt:
Each Sack (SK) 3
Blocked Punt, PAT or FG (BLKK) 3
Each Interception (INT) 3
Each Fumble Recovered (FR) 3
Each Fumble Forced (FF) 3
Each Safety (SF) 2
Assisted Tackles (TKA) 0.5
Solo Tackles (TKS) 1
Passes Defensed (PD) 1

David Lord said...

@David Lord
I mean R. Jones instead of Cyprien

Zachary R said...

Hi Guru... great stuff as always!

1. Who do you start this week - Eric Berry @ BUF or Barry Church @ JAX (2 point per sack/tackle)?

2. If you had to trade one of these guys away, who do you keep and trade - Robert Quinn or Everson Griffen (4 point per tackle, 6 point per sack)?

3. Do you like M. Kendricks over A. Barr ROS?

Thanks!

jlatino said...

Curious as to why you have been so high on Roman Harper and Lance Briggs all year. Both are old and can't play like they used to and their numbers show it. Lance has also been hurt for the past few weeks although you have still had him ranked as though he were playing.

marflan said...

Need a bye week or rest-of-season replacement for Harrison Smith for any def. position. M. Kendricks and Reshad Jones are both available. Who should I pick up? Should I keep them for the rest of the season and dump Smith? (I need a spot for offensive side of ball going forward)
Scoring is:3 pts. sack, int, FF, FR, Blocked kick
2 pts. tackle
1 pt. assist, stuff, passes defensed

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@David Lord
Please refer to my rankings for questions on this week as the scoring system isn't that different from what I use to formulate those rankings. ROS, I like Jones more still.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@jlatino
I don't think I've been that high on Briggs since he's been out for the last handful of games, I haven't even had him listed in my rankings. Harper I have high this week as he has the #1 matchup for safeties in the Eagles. Briggs is definitely not what he use to be, but there is no tackle competition in Chicago and with a ton of LBs injured and/or on bye, the pickens are slim. That said, he's not a horrible LB3- option this week for some owners.

Uy said...

With the Broncos putting Nate Irving on IR, are either Steven Johnson or Corey Nelson worth picking up?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Uy
There worth a speculative add as an LB5, but I wouldn't use an LB4 spot to pick them up at this point.

Kevin K said...

Need 3 out of JJames Laurinaitis, D. Butler, J. Freeman, P. Reilly and J. McClain ?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
Please refer to my rankings.

Adam Deb said...

Do you think there is a big difference between burnett, cyprien and reshad the rest of the way? I have burnett but the other two are somehow out there and debating making a move. I am leaning toward burnett because teams typically end up having to throw vs gb.

Sean Edward said...

My flex spot I am looking at Hitchens or R. Parker. Who do you start?

Scoring is: 3solo 1asst 4sack 4int

Ryan Barsotti said...

Why is Ninkovich ranked so high this week?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Adam Deb
Don't see huge differences between the three. I'd rather have Jones and Cyprien (in that order), however. Less tackle competition and their defense is on the field more.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Ryan Barsotti
Nice matchup this week.

Jason Patton said...

I have noticed since Mike Adams moved to strong safety he is a tackling machine... I have Reshad Jones and Blanton. Adams is sitting out on the waiver....what would you do?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Jason Patton
Blanton is a consistent tackler, but he lacks upside. I'd drop him and go with Mike Adams. If Landry comes back and dents his value, there are plenty of safeties usually available on the waiver wire.

Zachary R said...

Hi Guru - Mike Adams is currently 5th overall in points for the season at DB and 1st at the position over the last 3 games.

Any particular reason you don't have him ranked higher for week 12 (same with other analysts)?

I'm thinking of dropping either E. Berry or B. Church for him, is this a good move or no stick with who I have? (2 points per tackle/sack, 10 point per interception)

We only start one DB each week.

I just qualified for the playoffs, trying to lock my team up at every position. Thanks!

Kevin K said...

Will buffalo get the same stats grew?

Bobby Hundt said...

Hey, my name is Bobby H.
Which extra LB should I drop? I need to pick up a RB.
Scoring is 0.50 for tack solo, 0.25 for assists, 1 for TFL, 2 for pass def, and 4 points for sack or INT.
It's between Elvis Dumervil, Avery Williamson, and Jameel McClain.
Please advise! Thanks

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Zachary R
I think it's one of those situations were everyone is waiting for him to turn back into a pumpkin. The possible return of LaRon Landry muddles things as well. I have him in the top 20ish this week despite the Jacksonville matchup, so I'm starting to warm up to him (although it's probably later than I should have). I'd honestly play matchups from here on out. That's why Church is ranked higher than him this week.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Kevin K
Nope. It will be the DET stat crew. I've adjusted my rankings accordingly.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Bobby Hundt
Tough call since this is sack heavy. Not sure exactly how that translates out to points scored in your league, but I'd normally say Dumervil. I'd drop whomever has the lowest points scored over the last 5-6 weeks.

jlatino said...

No Love for Hitchens? Also where would you rank Clowney for DL? Ahead of Vernon?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@jlatino
I just don't love the matchup this week against the Eagles. Plus McClain is playing really well right too, so any available tackles in the front seven are likely to go to him.

Zachary R said...

It's been two weeks with R. Quinn putting up ZERO points... (4 point per tackle, 6 point per sack, 2 point per interception) - no points for PDEF. I need to win this week - should I consider playing E. Griffen over him (horrible matchup) or dropping Griffen for a waiver wire upside DL?

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Zachary R
As tough as it is, I would roll out Quinn again. After two poor fantasy performances, he's due for a nice game despite the bad matchup. There's not likely anyone on your wire with the same potential.

Ryan Barsotti said...

I saw Brandon Marshall get a pass deflection in the end-zone yesterday. Clear as day. Showed a slow-mo replay and everything. Why is it not on the stat sheet for him? Any ideas?

pooravatar said...

jack genser said...

I'm back and forth between Avery Williamson (fresh off of 2 poor performances, but playing against a NYG team giving up the most points to LBs) and Nigel Bradham (coming off a strong performance, but playing away from a generous home stat crew and against a Denver team which hasn't been good to LBs until recently, due to Anderson's emergence). My other LBs (we start 3 total) are Telvin Smith and D'Qwell Jackson. I think I like both and seem to be struggling with the third spot. Our scoring system awards 1 pt/tackle and 1 pt for every 2 assists (4 for a sack, so we're a tackle-heavy format. Thoughts??

Josh said...

Hi Ryan,

Do you know what happened to S Rashad Johnson last week? I can't find him on any injury report, yet he failed to record a tackle. How could that be? Did he play? Will he play this week? I see you have him ranked pretty highly, but I cannot find ANY information about what happened in week 14.

Steven Hill said...

No Gilchrist? No Verner??? Ridiculous.....

NeedIDPHelp said...

Need 2 LBs:
1. Jamie Collins
2. Chad Greenway
3. Bobby Wagner
4. Craig Robertson

0.5 pt solo tackle, 0.25 assist, 3 pts sack/interception, 1 pt pass deflection. Thanks - apprecaite your work

NeedIDPHelp said...

worried that AZ allows least pt to LBs so I am scared about Bobby Wagner and feel like Craig Robertson would be the better option behind Jamie Collins given Panthers give up the most pts to LBs and they will be on the field the most b/c of Johnny Football

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@NeedIDPHelp
I can totally buy your logic on that. Wagner is one of those players I go against all the stats and numbers because he just always seems to explode the last few games of the season and that's why he's ranked so high. Robertson is definitely the safer play if Dansby is out. So depends on your situation (underdog vs. favorite) in determining who you will go with.

Soheil Sadighi said...

Lauren Branson said...

Can start 2 LBs: M Kendricks, J Freeman, D Hightower. Based on the matchups, i want to bench Kendricks. He wasnt heavily involved in last weeks game and is facing a skins offense that gave J McClain (nyg) his worst stat line in a while. J Freeman is playing a run heavy cowboys offense, which is always juicy for a quick MLB. D Hightower is also playing a run oriented Jets offense which will allow him to play downhill for most of the gaame which is his strength. also theres the obvious chance for garbage time sacks in that game. Thoughts? Thanks for the help

Lauren Branson said...

Can start 1 Safety: TJ Ward, Bradley McDougald, Glover Quin.
Matchup looks to be against Wards favor but he does not play like most Safeties and will be up near the line quite often with all the DEN LB injuries and the run first mindset the Bengals have been using recently.
McDougald hadnt proven much befire last weeks 15 tackle performance. GB gives up alot of points to safeties this season
Quin has a safeties dream matchup vs jimmy claussen. i presume chi will be playing catchup fairly early in the game too which should lead to more passes, majority of which probably wont be hitting their targets.
Thoughts?
Thanks again, no more from me.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Lauren Branson
I agree with the logic. Freeman and Hightower both have the better matchups. I still have Kendricks ranked slightly higher this week because the Eagles defense has been on the field more often the last few weeks and I have a hard time benching stud LBs (even in bad matchups) during playoff weeks. The Cowboys haven't been as good of a matchup to LBs as you would think, which when you think about it makes sense since they are so good at running they are getting into the secondary on a lot of running plays. I'd go with Freeman and Hightower if you want to be conservative. Otherwise, Hightower and Kendricks if you need big points.

Ryan Sitzmann said...

@Lauren Branson
My ranking of Ward this week is more of a gut call. I just think that with all the injuries at linebacker, the Bengals are going to run all over the Broncos and Ward is going to get a ton of tackle opportunity and may be forced into a hybrid linebacker role more than he's played earlier in the season. I'd go with him.

Joe Momma said...

Von Miller on mnf, Hightower against the jets, bradham, or go get a guy like bostic/jones/kruger? 1.5 for solo

With Dansby set to return, who should I play today: Craig Robertson, Jon Bostic, or Danny Lansanah?

@Joe Momma
High upside big point potential play would be Hightower. Higher floor with decent upside would be McClain. Between those two.

Bostic

If you had to start 3 out of these (1.5 tkl, 0.75 Ast, 3 Sack) 2 LBs, and 1 any D.

Collins, Compton, Mosley, R. Jones, McDougald...I'm starting D. Morgan in the DL spot (4 IDPs). The issue really is Collins playing the entire game.

I'm leaning Mosley, Compton, McDougald. I'm going w/ McD on current form over Jones.

Thx for all the work.

Yah, it's always hard to tell with Belicheck. If you want to play it safe, go with Mosley, Compton, McDougald. If you need bigger points, insert Collins in for Compton.

Ryan,
week 17 question: Need 2 DLs of these 4--Mario Williams, Willie Young, Michael Johnson & Derrick Morgan(yes-he has DL position).
Thx

Also, when asking for weekly matchup advice please mention the weekly opponent for each player you are listing. This helps me answer questions more quickly.
In addition, always list your scoring system as my advice will differ depending on the type of system being used.

Lastly, please don't duplicate the same exact post on other pages. We get notified of all comments that are posted and we will make sure to answer questions as quickly as we can. Posting the same question multiple times on different pages just slows the whole process down for everyone.
