2014 Tackles Issued by Home Stat Crews (Through Week 16)

A major difference between offense only Fantasy Football and IDP Fantasy Football is the subjectivity of the stat keeping. On the offensive side of the ball, a 10 yard catch is a 10 yard catch. However, on the defensive side of the ball, things become a bit less clear. For example, two defensive players get to the ball-carrier at roughly the same time. Who gets the solo tackle and who gets the assist? Or do both players only get an assist? Or does only one player get a solo? There are multiple options in these scenarios and different scorekeepers have different tendencies (right or wrong). Analyzing each home stat crew's tendencies will better allow us to make informed lineup decisions.

The main chart listed below ranks home stat crews according to their generosity in issuing tackles (from greatest to least). The ranking is calculated based upon the total tackles issued per tackle opportunity when compared against the league average. A color key is listed below for your reference.

This article will be updated every Tuesday during the regular season to reflect the most up-to-date tackles issued. However, stat crews rarely change their tendencies over the course of the season and thus the trends that we witness early in the season are likely to remain for the entirety of the season.

@jyager
Apologies for the delay on this. The staffer that usually does this feature has been a bit busier than anticipated, gonna try and get this out before tomorrow. If not, it will be updated for next week with potentially some additional valuable information.

Hi Guru - Mike Adams is currently 5th overall in points for the season at DB and 1st at the position over the last 3 games.

Any particular reason you don't have him ranked higher for week 12 (same with other analysts)?

I'm thinking of dropping either E. Berry or B. Church for him, is this a good move or no stick with who I have? (2 points per tackle/sack, 10 point per interception)

We only start one DB each week.

I just qualified for the playoffs, trying to lock my team up at every position. Thanks!
