2013 Defensive Coordinators and Schemes

This article will be updated throughout the off-season and contains valuable information pertaining to NFL defensive schemes and coaching changes for the 2013 Season. When selecting an IDP, it is important to not only know what position they play, but also the defensive scheme they play in as well.

For example, outside linebackers in 3-4 schemes generally produce higher sack totals/lower tackle totals than outside linebackers that play in 4-3 schemes. Cornerbacks that play on defenses that incorporate a lot of Cover 2/Tampa 2 looks typically generate above average tackle numbers relative to their position.

Here are the current situations around the NFL:

*3-4: ARZ, CLE, GB, IND, HOU, KC, NO, PHI, PIT, SF, WAS

*Most 3-4 teams are mainly using a 1-gap system, although there are still a few teams using a 2-gap system.

The key defensive change to be aware of is Dallas switching to a 4-3. This will create a significantly positive impact on Sean Lee,and unsure on the impact to Demarcus Ware. He will still be a nuisance to QBs but it remains to be seen what his sack total gets to. Fantasy Football IDP

***NOTE: Please use a different display name than "Anonymous" when asking advice questions. It gets difficult to discern who I am answering when multiple people post under the same name.

Also, when asking for weekly matchup advice please mention the weekly opponent for each player you are listing. This helps me answer questions more quickly.
In addition, always list your scoring system as my advice will differ depending on the type of system being used.

Lastly, please don't duplicate the same exact post on other pages. We get notified of all comments that are posted and we will make sure to answer questions as quickly as we can. Posting the same question multiple times on different pages just slows the whole process down for everyone.
