2011 IDP Stockwatch: Week 15

Written By: Bill Edwards

Hello and welcome to this season-long series for IDPGuru.com. In this article, I will discuss a few players whose fantasy value has either gone up or down depending on their performance, role changes, injury concerns, etc. from the previous week. I will try to get this article out every Tuesday for your reading pleasure.

Stock Up
ROLB – Jason Worilds – (PIT) – Worilds has been pretty solid when on the field. He put up 9 tackles and 2 sacks last week. He has 19 tackles and 3 sacks in his last four games. With Harrison being suspended 1 game for his hit on Colt McCoy last week, Worilds should see plenty of field time this week.

FS – Malcolm Jenkins – (NO) –
Jenkins had 10 tackles last week and 33 in his last 4 games. He has played well for the Saints and has been consistent for fantasy teams.

LDE – Jason Babin – (PHI) –
Babin has been a stud the last 2 weeks with 5 sacks. He has played like the Eagles thought he would when they signed him this off-season. He would be a great keeper for next year if you have him or can get him.

MLB – Paul Posluszny – (JAC) –
Poz has regained his form again with 30 tackles in his last 4 games. He has been up and down all season and hopefully will finish strong.

Stock Down
MLB – Jonathan Vilma – (NO) – Vilma has slowed down in his last four games played. He has 18 tackles in that span. He has been injured which may be part of his problem but 1 tackle last week is not a good sign.

LCB – Sean Smith – (MIA) –
Smith has 51 tackles in 13 games this season but only 11 tackles in his last four games. He may be slowing down after a long season.

LOLB – Brooks Reed – (HOU) –
Reed hasn’t had a sack in 2 games and doesn’t get enough tackles to use in balanced or tackle heavy leagues.

SS – Jim Leonhard – (NYJ) –
Leonhard has been put on IR with a torn patellar tendon. He wasn’t a huge fantasy player but a solid IDP for the Jets.

So I'm down 20 points from round 1 of the playoffs and I've got to get better production out of my defense.

In a ESPN league with 1 point tackles, .5 assists, 2 point INTs & sacks (a bit tackle heavy)

Who should I start: (owned or available)

NEED 2 DL: Ngata. Trent Cole, Cliff Avril, Connor Barwin, JJ Watt, Chris Clemons, Israel Idonije, Sione Pouha, Tyson Jackson, Desmond Bryant, Adrian Clayborn

NEED 2 CB: Glover Quinn, Jacob Lacey, Jason Mccourty, Kelly Jennings, Richard Marshall, EJ Biggers, Richard Sherman, Terrence Newman

NEED 3 LB: Perry, Barnett, Von Miller, Rolando Mcclain, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Timmons, Colin Mccarthy

Thank you so much!

***NOTE: Please use a different display name than "Anonymous" when asking advice questions. It gets difficult to discern who I am answering when multiple people post under the same name.

Also, when asking for weekly matchup advice please mention the weekly opponent for each player you are listing. This helps me answer questions more quickly.
In addition, always list your scoring system as my advice will differ depending on the type of system being used.

Lastly, please don't duplicate the same exact post on other pages. We get notified of all comments that are posted and we will make sure to answer questions as quickly as we can. Posting the same question multiple times on different pages just slows the whole process down for everyone.
