Hello
and welcome everyone to this week's installment of "IDP Game
Notes" brought to you by IDP Guru staff writer, Johnny Davis. This
column is quickly turning into one of the most comprehensive,
all-encompassing IDP articles anywhere. And it's free!
Browns @ Steelers
- With Pittsburgh OLB Lamarr Woodley still out, Jason Worilds (8 solo
tackles-1 assist, forced fumble, 2 sacks) dominated. FS Ryan Clark (9-1) also
had a big game. ILB Lawrence Timmons (5-3) continues to enjoy his return to the
inside. SS Troy Polamalu (3-5, interception, 2 passes defensed) tweaked his
hamstring.
- Cleveland MLB D’Qwell Jackson (7-6, fumble recovery, 1 sack) put up
magnificent numbers, as usual. SLB Chris Gocong (7-1) has not been a reliable
fantasy player, but I have to give him some love for his impressive goal line
hits in this game. Rookie DE Jabaal Sheard (0-1) disappeared after a hot
streak.
Eagles @ Dolphins
- Philly DE
Trent Cole (7-0, 3 sacks) and DE Jason Babin (3-0, FF, 3 sacks) are QB
nightmares. SS Kurt Coleman (5-1, int, PD) keeps scoring well.
- Miami ILB
Karlos Dansby (7-2, PD) has had more ups than downs this season. SS Yeremiah
Bell (6-1) hasn’t come close to repeating his 14-solo tackle performance in
week 4.
Chiefs @ Jets
- New York
ILB David Harris (4-2, 1 sack) remains a viable fantasy option. DT Sione Pouha
(2-1, 1 sack, safety) has been scoring well. FS Jim Leonhard (0-1, int, 2 PD)
went down for the season.
- Kansas
City ILB Derrick Johnson (9-3, fumble recovery) has been red hot. Rookie OLB Justin
Houston (2-2, 1 sack) has been garnering praise. OLB Tamba Hali (5-2, FF, 1
sack) had one of his better games. DE Tyson Jackson (6-2) has shown flashes of
brilliance. SS Jon McGraw (1-3) can’t stay healthy.
Texans @ Bengals
- Houston
OLB Connor Barwin (4-1, FF, 1 sack) continues to prey on QBs. OLB Brooks Reed
(2-1, fumble recovery) has now gone two games without a sack.
-
Apparently, threatening Cincy DE Michael Johnson (2-1, 1 sack) with a benching
lit a fire underneath him. MLB Rey Maualuga (4-2, fumble recovery, 2 FF) has
been scoring well the last few games. FS Reggie Nelson (7-2, int, 2 PD) had a
big game. DT Geno Atkins (1-2, fumble recovery, FF, .5 sack) was all over the
box score. WLB Thomas Howard (9-3) has been making noise.
Saints @ Titans
- New
Orleans MLB Jonathan Vilma (0-1) disappeared after a strong week 13 return from
injury. FS Malcolm Jenkins (8-2) has been tackling well lately. SS Roman Harper
(5-1) has seen his numbers dip after a hot start to the season. SLB Jo-Lonn
Dunbar (5-0, 1 sack, PD) has shown value. DE Will Smith (3-0, 1 sack) either
does nothing or gets a sack and a handful of tackles.
- Tennessee
rookie MLB Colin McCarthy (5-1) disputed reports that he is immortal.
Predictably, the DBs had big numbers against the high-flying Saints: CB
Alterraun Verner (9-2), CB Cortland Finnegan (8-1, PD), and FS Michael Griffin
(6-1).
Bucs @ Jags
-
Jacksonville MLB Paul Posluszny (5-2, int, 2 PD) has been scoring well. SLB
Daryl Smith (4-3, FF, 1 sack) had a nice game. WLB Russell Allen (6-1, FF, PD)
has been making noise lately. SS Dawan Landry (3-2) has fallen off his pace.
- Tampa Bay

int, PD) is trying to stay relevant. Rookie DE Adrian Clayborn (3-1, FF, 1
sack) is on a four-game sack streak.
Patriots @ Redskins
- New
England DE Andre Carter (2-3, FF, 1 sack) got back on track. CB Kyle Arrington
(6-1) has been tackling well. WLB Jerod Mayo (6-3, int, PD) scored like his old
self. CB Devin McCourty (6-2, 3 PD) looks like a good source of tackles when
healthy.
- Washington
ILB Perry Riley (6-3, PD) continues his breakout campaign. ILB London Fletcher
(7-3) just keeps on tackling. Rookie OLB Ryan Kerrigan (1-0) was quiet.
Vikings @ Lions

a TD. DE Cliff Avril (7-1, fumble recovery, FF, 2 sacks) had his best game of
the season. WLB Deandre Levy (4-0, FF, 1 sack) emerged from a slump.
- Minnesota
DE Jared Allen (3-0, 3 sacks) has ridiculous sack numbers. SLB Chad Greenway
(5-3) can put up better numbers. MLB E.J. Henderson (1-3) went back to breaking
hearts.
Falcons @ Panthers
- Atlanta
WLB Sean Weatherspoon (8-1, 1 sack, PD) had a huge game, while MLB Curtis
Lofton (3-2) disappointed.
- Carolina
SLB James Anderson (10-7, .5 sack, PD) got back on track in a big way. DE
Charles Johnson (4-1, .5 sack) appears to have emerged from his midseason
slump.
Colts @ Ravens
- I want to
be like Baltimore DE/OLB Terrell Suggs (5-0, 3 FF, 3 sacks) when I grow up. SS
Bernard Pollard (1-0, int, 3 PD) saved his fantasy day with an interception.
ILB Jameel McClain (6-2, PD) has picked up the slack with Ray Lewis out.
- Indy MLB
Pat Angerer (6-2) got back on track. FS Antoine Bethea (5-6, FF, PD) continues
to score well.

recovery, 1 sack) has 7.5 sacks over the last six games. Rookie SLB Von Miller

means fantasy points for opposing IDPs: Chicago MLB Brian Urlacher (10-1), WLB
Lance Briggs (9-0), CB Charles Tillman (5-0, int, PD), SS Craig Steltz (3-2,
FF, 1 sack), and DE Julius Peppers (2-0, 1 sack).
49ers @ Cardinals
- Arizona
ILB Daryl Washington (4-0, 1 sack) got to the QB. Rookie CB Patrick Peterson
(5-0, 1 sack) has shown he has fantasy value even when he doesn’t take a punt
to the house. DE Darnell Dockett (3-1, 1 sack) has a sack in each of the last
two games. DE Calais Campbell (2-0, 1 sack, 2 PD) continues his success.
- With San
Fran ILB Patrick Willis out, ILB Larry Grant (10-1, PD) shined, while ILB

rookie ILB D.J. Smith (7-3, int, PD) and ILB Robert Francois (7-2, FF, int, PD)
filled in nicely for the injured starters. CB Charles Woodson (5-1, int, 2 PD)
finds a way. FS Morgan Burnett (10-0) came out of nowhere to rack up the
tackles.
- Oakland
MLB Rolando McClain (7-0, 2 sacks) plays better after getting arrested. SS
Tyvon Branch (3-2, PD) has been quiet by his standards the last couple of
games.
Giants @ Cowboys
- New York

***NOTE: Please use a different display name than "Anonymous" when asking advice questions. It gets difficult to discern who I am answering when multiple people post under the same name.
Also, when asking for weekly matchup advice please mention the weekly opponent for each player you are listing. This helps me answer questions more quickly.
In addition, always list your scoring system as my advice will differ depending on the type of system being used.
Lastly, please don't duplicate the same exact post on other pages. We get notified of all comments that are posted and we will make sure to answer questions as quickly as we can. Posting the same question multiple times on different pages just slows the whole process down for everyone.
Thanks!
