Hello and welcome everyone to this week’s installment of “IDP Game Notes” brought to you by IDP Guru staff writer, Johnny Davis. This column is quickly turning into one of the most comprehensive, all-encompassing IDP articles anywhere. And it’s free!

Eagles @ Seahawks

– Seattle MLB David Hawthorne (3 solo tackles-3 assists, pass defensed, 77-yd int return TD) delivered a highlight reel big play. WLB Leroy Hill (6-0, 1 sack) is a steady tackler. You could do worse than FS Earl Thomas (4-2). DE Chris Clemons (3-0) can deliver a monster game at any moment, but not this time. SS Kam Chancellor (3-1, int, PD) got a pick to help his suffering tackle numbers. CB Brandon Browner (3-0, 2 int, 3 PD) has been hot.
– Philly SS Kurt Coleman (5-6) continues his success story. DE Trent Cole (2-1, 1 sack) has not been the Trent Cole of old, but at least he got a sack. MLB Jamar Chaney (7-5) has been putting up good tackle numbers. Not much has worked for the Eagles this year, but DE Jason Babin (2-0, 2 sacks) has. FS Nate Allen (6-6) has put up good fantasy numbers when given a chance.
Titans @ Bills
– Tennessee MLB Colin McCarthy (9-0, 2 fumble recoveries, FF, PD) is topping man crush lists everywhere. Jordan Babineaux (1-1) and Chris Hope (4-0) split time at the SS spot. CB Jason McCourty (2-0) left with a concussion.
– Buffalo SS Da’Norris Searcy (6-3) has filled in nicely for George Wilson. ILB Nick Barnett (8-3, 1 sack) continues his hot streak. FS Jairus Byrd (8-1, FF) had one of his better games.
Raiders @ Dolphins
– Miami ILB Karlos Dansby (6-1, PD) bounced back after a disappearing act the last two weeks. ILB Kevin Burnett (4-0, 1 sack, PD, 34-yd int return TD) has been red hot. SS Yeremiah Bell (3-2) has seen his production taper off.
– Oakland MLB Rolando McClain (7-1) played only days after being arrested for bonehead off-field move of the season. I’ll be shocked if he avoids a suspension. SLB Kamerion Wimbley (3-0) has not found consistency yet. SS Tyvon Branch (4-0) had his worst tackling game of the season. DT Desmond Bryant (4-0, 1 sack) has four sacks in the last four games.
Colts @ Patriots
– New England WLB Jerod Mayo (2-5, int, PD) is trying to help your fantasy team. SLB Rob Ninkovich (2-1, 1 sack) has a sack in each of the last three games. WR Matt Slater (6-1, FF) was a fantasy-relevant DB on this day. DT Vince Wilfork (5-5, 1 sack) was huge, in more than one way. DE Andre Carter (1-1) and DE Mark Anderson (0-1) have fallen off the map.
– Indy MLB Pat Angerer (0-0) hurt his knee on the first play of the game. FS Antoine Bethea (4-5) continues to tackle well. CB Jerraud Powers (1-1) suffered a season-ending elbow injury.
Bengals @ Steelers
– Pittsburgh OLB James Harrison (5-1, 3 sacks) gets sacks in bunches. SS Troy Polamalu (3-1, PD) played despite last week’s concussion. ILB Lawrence Timmons (6-2) may be back on track.
– Cincy’s D-line seems to always be the headline, but it’s hard to tell who’s going to show up. DE Frostee Rucker (4-1) had a good game, DT Domata Peko (1-3, 1 sack) got a sack, DT Geno Atkins (1-1) disappointed after a three-game sack streak, and DE Michael Johnson (4-1, 1 sack) had a great game after news came out that he had been benched. MLB Rey Maualuga (6-0) has six solos in each of the last two games.
Jets @ Redskins
– New York SS Eric Smith (6-2, fumble recovery, PD) has been a pretty consistent tackler. DT Sione Pouha (3-1, PD) has been about as valuable as you can expect a DT to be. OLB Aaron Maybin (2-0, FF, 1 sack) got another sack. ILB David Harris (5-0, 2 PD) has been tackling well lately.
– Washington ILB London Fletcher (9-8) had another monster tackling game. Rookie OLB Ryan Kerrigan (3-3, PD) broke a streak of at least .5 sack in each of the last four games. ILB Perry Riley (3-5, fumble recovery) continues to show value.
Chiefs @ Bears
– We expect these kinds of numbers out of Kansas City ILB Derrick Johnson (7-1, 1 sack), but OLB Justin Houston (7-0, FF, 3 sacks, PD) could make a name for himself with more games like this. OLB Tamba Hali (1-0, 1 sack) injured his hand. SS Jon McGraw (2-1, int, 1 sack, PD) filled up the box score. ILB Jovan Belcher (5-2) has been showing value.
– After Chicago SS Major Wright (4-1) hurt his shoulder, Craig Steltz (9-1, FF) came in and dominated. CB Charles Tillman (8-1, PD) got back to his studly ways. MLB Brian Urlacher (2-0) cannot be counted on. DE Israel Idonije (5-1, 1 sack) is capable of a big game.
Broncos @ Vikings
– With Denver’s rookie SLB Von Miller out with a thumb injury, Mario Haggan (7-5, PD, 16-yd int return TD) was phenomenal. DE Elvis Dumervil (2-2, 1 sack) continues to terrorize QBs.
– Minnesota DE Jared Allen (3-0, fumble recovery, FF, 1 sack) is unstoppable. SLB Chad Greenway (2-4) left briefly with an elbow injury. MLB E.J. Henderson (5-0) came down off of the elite numbers he had posted the two previous weeks.
Panthers @ Bucs
– Carolina SS Charles Godfrey (9-2) has put up top-shelf numbers the last few games. SLB James Anderson (2-1) has tailed off a bit. WLB Jordan Senn (5-2) is getting plenty of playing time.
– Good lord! Is this what Tampa Bay rookie DE Da’Quan Bowers (7-1, 1.5 sacks, PD) can do with a clean bill of health and playing time? SS Sean Jones (9-1) had his best tackling game of the season.
Falcons @ Texans
– Houston OLB Connor Barwin (1-0, 2 PD) came back down to Earth after posting an eye-popping 6.5 sacks in the last three games. ILB Brian Cushing (5-1) banged up his knee. OLB Brooks Reed (3-2) failed to get a sack for the first time since week 6. Rookie DE J.J. Watt (0-0) disappointed.
– That’s more like it for Atlanta MLB Curtis Lofton (11-0, 1 sack). WLB Sean Weatherspoon (5-2, PD) had a good game. James Sanders (10-0, fumble recovery) is the starting SS.
Ravens @ Browns
– With MLB Ray Lewis still nursing a foot injury, DE/OLB Terrell Suggs (2-2, 1 sack, PD) did well. SS Bernard Pollard (3-1, PD) had a disappointing game. DT Haloti Ngata (1-1, 2 PD) can do better. CB Lardarius Webb (2-0, 68-yd punt return TD) housed a punt.
– Cleveland rookie DE Jabaal Sheard (6-3, FF, 1 sack, PD) is on a hot streak. MLB D’Qwell Jackson (8-4) tackles with the best of them.
Packers @ Giants
– Green Bay OLB Clay Matthews (1-1, FF, 1 sack, PD, 38-yd int return TD) filled up the stat sheet. ILB D.J. Smith (6-2) filled in nicely for Desmond Bishop. CB Charles Woodson (5-1) left with a concussion. SS Morgan Burnett (5-1, 2 PD) can remain at least relevant with numbers like that.
– Injury problems for the G-men: DE Osi Umenyiora and LBs Michael Boley and Mark Herzlich came into this game hurt, and now SS Kenny Phillips (1-0, PD) joins them after banging up the knee that ended his 2009 season. DT Linval Joseph (9-0) has had some decent games, but nothing close to a nine-solo outing. DE Justin Tuck (4-1, 1 sack) had his best game in a while.
Cowboys @ Cardinals
– Arizona ILB Daryl Washington (8-1) is showing reliability. Rookie CB Patrick Peterson (5-0, 3 PD) continues to show value. ILB Paris Lenon (4-1, 1 sack) keeps getting it done. DE Calais Campbell (2-1, 1 sack, PD) continues his outstanding season.
– Dallas ILB Sean Lee (5-2, PD) says he won’t need surgery on his wrist. OLB Demarcus Ware (3-0, 1 sack) got to the QB again.
Rams @ 49ers
– San Fran ILB Patrick Willis (0-0) left with a hamstring injury and Larry Grant (5-1, 1 sack) filled in nicely. ILB Navorro Bowman (6-0) might have to lead the D if Willis misses time. Rookie OLB Aldon Smith (3-0, fumble recovery, 2 sacks) is having an unbelievable season. FS Dashon Goldson (3-0, int, PD) has four picks in the last six games.
– St. Louis SS Darian Stewart was inactive with a concussion and Craig Dahl (11-2, FF) picked up the slack. MLB James Laurinaitis (10-2, 1 sack) continues his monster season. DE Chris Long (3-0, 2 sacks) has at least 1 sack in each of the last six games. DE James Hall (3-0, 1 sack) got a sack too.
Lions @ Saints
– New Orleans MLB Jonathan Vilma (6-4, PD) returned from injury. FS Malcolm Jenkins (6-1, PD) has been tackling well. SS Roman Harper (2-2, 2 PD) has been cold the last two games.
– Detroit MLB Stephen Tulloch (5-5) has been an inconsistent tackler. SS Amari Spievey (9-1) racked up the tackles as Drew Brees put on a passing display. WLB Deandre Levy (2-0) has fallen off the map. Rookie DT Nick Fairley (2-1, 1 sack) got his first sack of the season.
Chargers @ Jags
– San Diego FS Eric Weddle (4-0, int, PD) got another pick. ILB Donald Butler (6-2, PD) left with a foot injury. ILB Takeo Spikes (6-3) has had two straight strong games.

– Jacksonville MLB Paul Posluszny (7-4) had a great game, but the rest of the Jags’ usual suspects were unspectacular: SLB Daryl Smith (2-2), DE Jeremy Mincey (2-0), and SS Dawan Landry (1-0).
