2011 IDP Stockwatch: Week 11

Written By: Bill Edwards

Hello and welcome to this season-long series for IDPGuru.com. In this article, I will discuss a few players whose fantasy value has either gone up or down depending on their performance, role changes, injury concerns, etc. from the previous week. I will try to get this article out every Tuesday for your reading pleasure.

Stock Up

LCB – Jason McCourty – (TEN) – McCourty has had a great season thus far and is on pace for 131 total tackles. The former 6th round pick racked up 35 tackles over his last four games. Look for his stock to rise as the colder months come and the Titans play some cold weather games, giving him more tackle chances. DB1-

LILB – London Fletcher – (WAS) – Fletcher has been a constant force as an IDP for years and has not shown any signs of slowing down. He put up 46 tackles in his last four games and has 80 on the season. Fletcher’s current pace has him finishing with 145 tackles. LB1-

SS – Roman Harper – (NO) – Harper, the 2 time Defensive Player of the Week had a ridiculous week 10. He finished with 13 total tackles and 1 sack. Harper has 69 tackles on the season and has had a sack in each of his last 3 games, with 7 sacks on the season. DB1

LLB – Kamerion Wimbley – (OAK) – Wimbley had a break out week 10, finishing with 4 sacks and 7 total tackles. Usually only a pass rushing threat, Wimbley has been netting some decent tackle numbers as well averaging 5 tackles per game his last 4 games. LB3

DT – Ahtyba Rubin – (CLE) – Rubin has 22 tackles in his last four games, 44 on the season. Rubin is in a great tackle situation playing for Cleveland, who has lost their last 3 games and usually faces a lot of runs in the second half of games. DL2-

Stock Down

FS – Tanard Jackson – (TB) – Jackson was reinstated by the NFL in week 6 and had back to back games with an INT. In the last two games he has total 6 tackles, no INTs, and no passes defended. DB 4+

RCB – Sheldon Brown – (CLE) – Brown, who may be best known for his huge hit on Reggie Bush way back when he was an Eagle, hasn’t done much for Cleveland this season. He has only 24 tackles in 9 games this season to go along with 1 INT. DB5

LCB – Antoine Winfield – (MIN) – Winfield was having a solid season in 2011. In week 10, he broke his clavicle and reports have him out for the rest of the season. 40 tackles in 5 games this season, this is a huge hit to the Vikings defense. INJURED

LILB – Bart Scott – (NYJ) – Scott is a victim of the new NFL. He is not apart of the Jets nickel packages and with teams going 3 or 4 wide more and more he is reduced to mainly a 2 down linebacker. His 12 tackles in his last four games are a glimpse of what the remainder of his season will look like. LB4-

LDE – Chris Clemons – (SEA) – Clemons has 23 tackles in 9 games this season, with almost half (20) coming in the last 4. With zero sacks in his last 2 games his stock is slipping slightly. DL3+
