Written By: Johnny Davis

Hello and welcome everyone to this week’s installment of “IDP Game Notes” brought to you by IDP Guru staff writer, Johnny Davis. This column is quickly turning into one of the most comprehensive, all-encompassing IDP articles anywhere. And it’s free!

Packers @ Lions

– Both Green Bay ILBs Desmond Bishop (2 solo tackles-2 assists) and A.J. Hawk (4-2, pass defensed) left the game with lower leg injuries. Rookie D.J. Smith (5-1) and Rob Francois (3-0, int, PD) did well in their absence. SS Morgan Burnett (5-0) continues to break hearts. OLB Clay Matthews (3-1, int, PD) is wildly inconsistent. CB Charles Woodson (4-1, int, PD) got another pick.
– Detroit MLB Stephen Tulloch (3-0, PD) and WLB Deandre Levy (1-2) had down games. DE Cliff Avril (2-0, forced fumble, 1 sack, PD) continues to wreak havoc in the backfield. DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (3-1) has been more active lately. It’s too bad DT Ndamukong Suh (1-0) doesn’t get fantasy points for tapdancing on opponents.
Dolphins @ Cowboys
– Dallas ILB Sean Lee’s (5-2, 1 sack) numbers don’t appear to be affected by his wrist injury. OLB Demarcus Ware (0-1, fumble recovery) has cooled off the last couple of games.
– Miami ILB Karlos Dansby (2-0) has inexplicably fallen off the map after a five-game hot streak. ILB Kevin Burnett (11-1) came back strong in this game after a disappearing act of his own last week. OLB Cameron Wake (4-0, 1 sack) got a sack and a handful of tackles. SS Yeremiah Bell (4-0) hasn’t had high tackle numbers lately.
49ers @ Ravens
– Baltimore decided to put on a sacking display: DE/OLB Terrell Suggs (3-0, FF, 3 sacks), DT Haloti Ngata (4-0, 2 sacks), and DE Cory Redding (4-1, 2.5 sacks). SS Bernard Pollard (6-2) keeps seeing his tackle numbers rise. CB Lardarius Webb (3-1, int, .5 sack, 2 PD) was all over the stat sheet. SS Ed Reed (0-1, PD) was useless.
– San Fran ILBs Patrick Willis (4-4, PD) and Navorro Bowman (4-4) had tame numbers by their standards. DE Justin Smith (2-3) hasn’t had a sack since week 6.
Panthers @ Colts
– Carolina SLB James Anderson (3-7) got a lot of assists, if that excites you. With WLB Omar Gaither out with a knee injury, Jordan Senn (3-7) saw plenty of action. DE Charles Johnson (0-1, .5 sack, PD) is struggling to stay relevant. DE Greg Hardy (1-1) has done very little lately. SS Charles Godfrey (4-2, FF, 1 sack, PD) has been scoring well.
– Indy MLB Pat Angerer (3-4, 1 sack) is getting plenty of action but owners would probably like more solo tackles. FS Antoine Bethea (6-3) came out of the bye strong. DE Robert Mathis (2-2, 1 sack) got another sack.
Bills @ Jets
– New York ILB David Harris (7-1, 1 sack) has been tackling well lately. OLB Aaron Maybin (2-0, 2 sacks) rose from the dead to get two sacks. CB Darrelle Revis (8-0, PD) would be a lot more valuable if he tackled like this all the time.
– Buffalo ILB Nick Barnett (6-2) keeps on trucking. FS Jairus Byrd (4-0, PD) has cooled off. With SS George Wilson still out, rookie Da’Norris Searcy (3-0) could not seize the opportunity.
Browns @ Bengals
– Just when you think it’s safe to give up on Cincy MLB Rey Maualuga (6-4), he has a good game. DT Geno Atkins (2-1, 1 sack, 2 PD) and DE Robert Geathers (1-5, 1 sack) got to the QB.
– Cleveland MLB D’Qwell Jackson (5-4) is a tackling machine. DT Ahytba Rubin (4-2) is having a god season. Rookie DE Jabaal Sheard (4-0, FF, 1 sack) continues to show bright promise. SS Usama Young (4-2) continues to fill in for T.J. Ward.
Bucs @ Titans
– It’s hard not to start feeling a little man crush coming on for Tennessee rookie MLB Colin McCarthy (7-3, int, PD). I’m feeling the urge to throw rookie SLB Akeem Ayers (6-2) some love, too. It looks like SS Jordan Babineaux (4-2, FF) has reserved a permanent bench spot for Chris Hope. DE Dave Ball (3-1, fumble recovery, FF, 2 sacks) came back strong from a concussion.
– Tampa Bay CB Ronde Barber (6-1, FF) continues to amaze me. DE Adrian Clayborn (3-0, 1 sack) got another sack. Rookie MLB Mason Foster (4-1, PD) has been underwhelming. DT Albert Haynesworth (4-0) posted his second game with four solo tackles since joining the Bucs. FS Tanard Jackson (4-1, fumble recovery, PD) returned from injury.
Texans @ Jaguars
– Houston OLB Connor Barwin (7-3, 4 sacks) has 6.5 sacks in his last three games. Rookie OLB Brooks Reed (2-2, 1 sack) has 6 sacks in his last five games. Rookie DE J.J. Watt (5-2, 2 sacks, PD) has plowed through the rookie wall.
– Jacksonville’s usual suspects did nothing all that spectacular: MLB Paul Posluszny (4-3, FF), SLB Daryl Smith (4-1), SS Dawan Landry (2-2), and DE Jeremy Mincey (0-0). Russell Allen (4-3, FF) started at WLB with Clint Session out for the year. CB Ashton Youboty (8-0, 38-yd fumble recovery for TD) hasn’t been a very good fantasy player, but he’d be solid gold in a funny name contest.
Vikings @ Falcons
– Atlanta WLB Sean Weatherspoon (7-3, 1 sack) gained a little steam back after a weak game or two. It was funny to see MLB Curtis Lofton (2-7, PD) try to cover Percy Harvin on a deep route.
– This game of fantasy football would be a lot simpler if they were all as reliable as Minnesota SLB Chad Greenway (7-9). MLB E.J. Henderson (9-3) has had two straight big games. Maybe your league should consider giving DE Jared Allen (5-0) extra points for doubling as the long snapper … not that he needs it.
Cardinals @ Rams
– Momma, there goes that man: Arizona rookie CB Patrick Peterson (5-0, 80-yd punt return TD) has been fantasy gold if you get points for punt returns. ILB Daryl Washington (5-0, PD) has cooled off a bit. ILB Paris Lenon (5-1, fumble recovery) gets it done every now and then. DE Calais Campbell (5-0) just won’t be stopped. Rookie OLB Sam Acho (3-0, fumble recovery, FF, 2 sacks) has five sacks on the season.
– St. Louis MLB James Laurinaitis (4-2, int, PD) is a pretty good fantasy player, and he’s the son of former WWF wrestler Animal of the Road Warriors tag team, in case you care. DE Chris Long (3-1, 1 sack) has seven sacks in his last five games. WLB Chris Chamberlain (6-1) and SS Darian Stewart (5-2, 1 sack) both left with injuries. Rookie DE Robert Quinn (1-0, 1 sack) has four sacks in his last five games.
Bears @ Raiders
– Oakland SLB Kamerion Wimbley (4-0, int, 1 sack, PD) has caught my eye. SS Tyvon Branch (8-0, 1 sack) had a great game, to no one’s surprise. MLB Rolando McClain (5-1, 1 sack) had one of his better games. DE Lamarr Houston (5-0) has been spotty.
– The biggest surprise out of this game for Chicago was that CB Charles Tillman (3-2) wasn’t spectacular. MLB Brian Urlacher (5-0) is painfully inconsistent. SS Major Wright (6-1, PD) has been scoring well. DE Julius Peppers (5-0, 2 sacks) came back strong after laying an egg last week.
Redskins @ Seahawks
– Washington ILB Perry Riley (6-8) continues to make waves. ILB London Fletcher (4-7) is ageless. Inspired by the Geico caveman, OLB Brian Orakpo (3-1, .5 sack, PD) “Orakpoed” half a QB. SS LaRon Landry (3-1, 1 sack, PD) tweaked his groin. Rookie OLB Ryan Kerrigan (2-2) was quiet by his standards.
– Seattle MLB David Hawthorne (5-2) left with a knee injury. WLB Leroy Hill (6-2) had a good tackling game. Looks like feast or famine for DE Chris Clemons (1-1). SS Kam Chancellor (3-1) has cooled off since a hot start to the season.
Broncos @ Chargers
– Tebow gets all the love, but Denver’s defense has been beasting out: WLB D.J. Williams (10-2), rookie SLB Von Miller (8-2, 1 sack, PD), DE Elvis Dumervil (3-2, 2 sacks), and MLB Joe Mays (6-1).
– A handful of San Diego IDPs benefitted from Denver’s rushing attack: ILB Takeo Spikes (8-6), ILB Donald Butler (6-0), OLB Na’il Diggs (5-0), and FS Eric Weddle (5-2, PD).
Patriots @ Eagles
– After splashing onto the fantasy scene by terrorizing QBs, New England DEs Andre Carter (1-0) and Mark Anderson (1-0) came up short in this one. WLB Jerod Mayo (3-0) disappointed as well. Kyle Arrington (10-0, 2 PD) has been scoring well for a CB. SLB Rob Ninkovich (3-0, 1 sack) has been making noise.
– Philly SS Kurt Coleman (11-1) has had some huge tackle numbers in his last few games. MLB Jamar Chaney (2-0, PD) fell flat on his face.
Steelers @ Chiefs
– After Pittsburgh SS Troy Polamalu (2-0) left with a concussion, Ryan Mundy (8-3, int, PD) had himself a game. ILB Lawrence Timmons (7-1) had his best game since week 1. Jason Worilds (4-2, 1 sack) scored well with OLB Lamarr Woodley inactive with a hamstring injury. OLB James Harrison (4-1) hasn’t made much noise since his three-sack week 9 performance.
– Kansas City ILB Derrick Johnson (8-1) has been racking up the tackles lately. SS Jon McGraw (3-1, PD) returned from a shoulder injury.
Giants @ Saints
– New Orleans MLB Jo-Lonn Dunbar (6-5, FF) continues to play well in Jonathan Vilma’s absence. SS Roman Harper (3-1, fumble recovery) had a down game. DE Will Smith (4-1, FF, 1 sack) emerged from the crypt to have a huge game.

– New York DE Justin Tuck (4-0) finally got a handful of solo tackles but nothing else. DE Jason Pierre-Paul (5-1) surprisingly didn’t get a sack or pass break-up. DE Osi Umenyiora (0-1) left the game with an ankle injury. There wasn’t much out of SLB Mathias Kiwanuka (3-1).
