Current Team:
Washington Redskins
Defensive Scheme: 3-4 (1-gap with some hybrid looks)
2009 Fantasy Positional Finish (My Scoring System): DB42 (only played 15 games)
ADP (Junkyard Jake): DB14
My Current Ranking: DB20

2010 Outlook: I’ve always been a fan of Landry’s as far as fantasy football is concerned. He is a sure tackler, but he sometimes struggles in coverage. This combination of attributes often times leads to great fantasy production for defensive backs. However, Landry’s fantasy production has been restricted during his 1st three seasons in the league since he was playing in the free safety position in Washington. The Redskins have now announced that Landry will be playing as an “in-the-box” strong safety this season which is great news for Landry owners. He is a more natural fit for this position and will see an increased amount of tackle opportunities. He never provided much in terms of big plays anyway’s, so that really isn’t a concern.

I wouldn’t necessarily call Landry a sleeper since his ADP is currently a DB14 (actually six spots higher than I have him ranked). I will more than likely be moving him up into the top 15 within the next couple of days, so that ADP is fairly accurate.

I definitely believe that “LRon” has low DB1/high DB2 potential especially if you play in a tackle-heavy scoring system.

Landry has said that he plans to put on about 30 pounds (bringing him up to about 240) in order to handle the increased amount of tackling he will be doing. He finished as the 42nd ranked DB in my scoring system last season which isn’t the greatest. With this being said, you may be able to find a noob owner who may unload him cheap. If so, pounce on the deal and ride Landry to the bank.

2010 Projected Stats: 88 solo tackles, 13 assists, 2 sacks, 1 interception
